I bring you this column on a weekend that will go down in history for one and all here in Cornwall as our lass Alex did us proud in the fame academy but less of Cornwall and more of the UK as I bring you the very serious matter of UK wrestling news and boy is it getting serious in the run up to Uprising.

We start this week though with All Star as the autumn/winter tour gets in to full swing with shows happening up and down the country most nights. The tour has seen the continuation of American Dragon’s stay with All Star which can’t be bad for us UK fans. Dragon might as well start taking permanent residence in the UK as he has been over here since spring which for an Indy star of the caliber which he is working dark matches for WWE and headlining the top US Indy shows is a very rare occurrence.

One of the major benefits to come out of All Star’s recent shows is their new found link with the FWA. Now before Scott Conway left, FWA had a healthy bond with TWA with FWA stars getting regular work with TWA as they were a more active promotion though more shows. Now with TWA being gone some months now it has left a small void which I am glad to say has now been filled by All Star and I hope the bond goes from strength to strength.

Now you may remember either myself or Goldy a few weeks ago talking about the big event in which the FWA featured heavily in that being the launch party for the new Eidos Backyard Wrestling game don’t try this at home. Well now instead of listening to me jabbering on about it you can watch the new trailer for the game which features the highlights of the event. To see the trailer visit: This

The big event is drawing ever nearing that being FWA “British Uprising II” The tickets went on sale through ticketmaster last week and within hours the event listing had made it to the front page of the ticketmaster website which only features its most popular events. All the kinks in the system from FoH have been ironed out and I don’t think anyone has had a problem getting tickets so it couldn’t be any simpler this time so you have no excuse not to buy a ticket.

The event is starting to shape up nicely with four confirmed matches which include:

  • FWA Heavyweight title: Doug Williams vs. James Tighe
  • FWA All England title: Zebra Kid vs. Flash Barker
  • Careers on the lines: Ulf Herman & Alex Shane vs. The Family
  • Handicap match: Burchill vs. Hampton Court

All of this as well as matches yet to be signed for Justin Credible & CM Punk who knows maybe they will face each other though Jonny Storm and Jack Xavier are yet to have matches signed so any combination of those guys could turn into a couple of classics. On top of this we have a £10,000 bounty match for anyone to take out Nikita and due to a new FWA ruling will Alex Shane be allowed to compete due to recent injuries he has picked up? All I will say on the matter is that the possible scenarios can only get more intriguing as the event draws nearer.

NWA Ireland are celebrating a very successful weekend of shows they put on last weeks as this newly started organization grows from strength to strength. One of the shows saw a debut of the youngest NWA Ireland star at the age of just 14 which was ‘Wildcard’ Kevin Daley we shall hopefully be hearing big things from him in the future. Now NWA Ireland would like to hear from anyone in Ireland who would like to see live wrestling in their area or if you have any suggestions or feedback for them drop them a line at: nwaireland@hammerlockwrestling.com

CWC have had to announce some bad news this week for all you fans living in Brockenhurst as due to the Brockenhurst College being tripled booked for the evening so CWC were forced to cancel. The good news is though that the show has been re-scheduled for the 30th of October so make sure you get down there if you can. On top of this dates have been confirmed at East Point Centre, Thornhill, Southampton for the 25th of October and one the 1st of November in Birmingham.

James Mason this weekend added another promotion to the list of organizations he has worked for by wrestling on the latest RBW card in Nottingham. Also on the card Scott Future was set to go against Jem Brown for the RBW British Mid Heavyweight title. So it should have been a good night of action at the Notts County football stadium I am just waiting on a report to come in but at the time of writing this none are in.

It’s only a short and hopefully sweet column this week unfortunately as I must go back down the pub to celebrate as only us Cornish people can as we do things dreckly I be tellin you.

Until next time,

Adam Sibley
