Two weeks on the trot now a column from me which is on time we must be getting back to normality. There is lots to talk about this week with the fallout from Uprising which proved to be such a good event on so many levels like I knew it would be. We have more rumblings from the X-Wrestling camp to talk about in depth. On top of this we have all the usual news as well as all the info on the latest TV dealings with British Wrestling.

It is with FWA "British Uprising 2" I shall start as last weekend it blew the roof off of the York Hall in Bethnal Green. Now Uprising 2 had big shoes to fill after last years awesome show which many fans said dawned the new era for the FWA. Even before they got down to the wrestling the event had a touch of class as the video package which was played featured last years defining moment at Uprising which was Jody Fleisch's balcony dive and that section was greeted with a standing evasion.

Then they got down to business and there were some cracking matches with the US stars being used well to put over the UK stars. On top of the announced US stars Mikey Whiplash made a surprise return to partner Ulf Herman in his match against the Family. The aftermath of the Family match has changed that whole complexion of the feud as Alex Shane came back to turn on his long time partner in crime Ulf Herman. Before this went down Paul Travell was set on fire during one crazy match. To read a full account see: FWA British Uprising 2 Review

Other big news coming out of the event is that the most hated man in FWA Hade Vanson now holds the All-England championship. In an ongoing feud which has had everyone questioning what was happening he managed to get into the arena and due to the no show of Zebra Kid managed to get a shot against Flash Barker. Doug Williams also managed to retain the FWA title beating James Tighe 2 falls to 1.

It has been another crazy week for X-Wrestling as they seem to be throwing their cheque book around with no abandon as more and more US stars are named for the show. This week Gangrel, Luna, Z Barr, Nick Benz and Shark Boy have been added to the line up which already includes Road Warrior Animal, Ted DiBiase, Big Vito, Reckless Youth and Lollipop. I would hate to know what the budget is for this show is especially if more names get announced which I wouldn't be surprised if they were.

No more UK names have been announced for the show as far as I am aware and we are still yet to have a concrete date, time and venue for the show so there is guaranteed to be more news and work to be done at X-Wrestling. This is the most ambitious wrestling show since the ill fated Wrestlexpress lets just hope things work out better for X-Wrestling. On a sad note though one of their US signings Road Warrior Hawk real name Michael Hegstrand passed away in his sleep last weekend. Our thoughts here at Wrestling 101 go out to his friends and family.

The new branch of NWA:UK Hammerlock got some brilliant TV exposure in Ireland last week on Network 2 show 'Sattitude.' The show featured a match between 'The Inve$tment' Ross Browne and Beautiful Benny B which is an ongoing feud in the promotion. I have heard the ratings for their segment of the show very good so who knows what could happen in the future. I would just like to say a big well done for this new promotion.

Due to unfortunate circumstances WAW have had to make a change to the big tag title match at October Outrage V this Saturday in Norwich. Flash barker is not able to compete due to severely injuring his knee at Uprising whilst his tag partner for the night Doug Williams is unable to compete due to the change of dates. The Pitbulls will still be made to defend their titles but against Paul Tyrell and Ashe.

In a surprise turn that not many people knew about US Indy star Chris Hero worked a few shows for Brian Dixon (AllStar Promotions) during the week which was a big added bonus to all that got to see him as he was unadvertised. Chris though has had to cut his tour short so Dixon has brought in Robbie Brookside to replace him. It was a rather short but sweet tour for Hero and I hope he is back in the UK soon.

Keeping on the theme this week of TV appearances EPW showed their continuing growth with a spot on BBC East Midlands today. The footage the BBC used was from the show last weekend at the Waltheof Leisure Center in Sheffield. It aired on the 22/10 and featured Jimmy J.King, Marc Mignot and Flawless Carter Jay. Well done guys keep up the hard work.

To add to all of this Dropkixx training school appeared on a documentary this week called "Lock up your sons" which was documenting the backyard wrestling scene in Britain. Dropkixx featured heavily in the last segment where they tied their best to teach the backyarders how to wrestle properly and try and get them away from the backyard scene so they can perform professionally in a safe way and a safe environment.

To finish off the column this week we have even more TV news which is an exclusive thanks to my good friend Baxter Burridge. Baxter along with Doug Williams, Hade Vanson and Leeroy Kincaid recently featured in an episode of "Britain's hardest" for Sky TV. I know how it went but I won't spoil it for you all but instead I shall endeavor to see when this episode will be screened and let you all know.

Until next time,

Adam Sibley
