WWE Deluxe Aggression (Series 1): Randy Orton Figure Review

5 April 2006

Wrestling 101 Reviews RSS Feed | Feeds

OK, well you probably know by now, if you’ve read some of my older columns, and I mean OLD, that I’m a bit of a WWE obsessive, right down to collecting the figures. We’re talking right from the Hasbro era up to the Real Scan delights of recent years.

Well, I dropped out for a while, but now I may just be tempted back. The kind folks at Vivid have sent me one of their new Deluxe Aggression range to have a look at, and I must say, it’s pretty damn good. The packaging has improved, with a nice classy look to it… nice touch. So often things are released as deluxe or special editions and the packaging remains the same old same old.

The figures all come with their own accessory – in Orton’s case, it’s the classic Steel Chair of DOOM~~~! This one, however, has a neat touch in that you can actually ‘dent’ it with an impression of a face – a small detail, but pretty cool in my book.

As for the figure itself? Well, it’s a Real Scan, and the detail is what you’d come to expect. As a likeness, it’s pretty damn close, as you can see here:

I must confess to not owning a Randy Orton figure in the past, but the likeness here is very impressive. With 23 points of articulation (that’s joints to dumb folk like me) there’s an incredible amount of poses that can be achieved – and yes, I realise how sad that sentence just made me sound, but dammit, peeps need to know!

There are six figures in the first series of the Deluxe Aggression range (Batista, Rey Mysterio, John Cena, Kurt Angle, Triple H and Randy Orton) and each one has a different accessory. You can find them in shops now and in my opinion, they are worth it.

Points

  • Likeness: 8 / 10
  • Poseability: 9 / 10
  • Accessory: 8 / 10

Overall: 8 / 10
