Talk Wrestling Online User Profile: Clarkey
Clarkey is a 21 year old from Gillingham, Kent. He is a moderator in the Talk Wrestling Online chat room, and member of the accompanying forum. Clarkey has taken over the reigns of responsibility from Russ and Colin for the Video Games section of Wrestling 101, and hopes to continue the good work achieved by his predecessors alongside new fellow Video Games reporter Fletch. Clarkey has previously written for Prowrestling.com’s gaming section, and appeared on the TV show Gamer Web as a guest presenter on a couple of occasions and contributed to reviews and articles for their accompanying web site.
He first gained an interest in the wrestling world in the late 80's when introduced to the world of the WWF, and has been hooked ever since. His taste grew when he viewed his first episode of Nitro following Hogan's infamous jump across to WCW, and being introduced to ECW through a friend and when pursuing more, became hooked instantly. It was at this point Clarkey's love affair for his favourite wrestler grew, becoming immersed with his parody work under his Dancin' moniker and the proceeding work as Raven's lackey. The later conception of the Blue World Order lead to his adoration turning into a obsession of Stevie Richards, following him from his run in WCW to his big break in the WWE, particularly enjoying his RTC, and Stevie Night Heat venture.
His interest in video games originated from when his father brought him a Sega Megadrive back from Japan in ’89, and has maintained a strong interest ever since. He was introduced to his first Wrestling title in the form of WWF Super Wrestlemania on this format. His interest in the genre beyond the WWF and WCW titles such as Warzone, Attiude and WCW vs the World grew particularly when he grasped his first taste of the Firepro in the form of Iron Ring '96 on the Playstation. The emergence of Wrestlemania 2000 and its follow up No Mercy on the Nintendo 64 sustained his interest, and No Mercy itself remains his favourite wrestling related title to date. He enjoys the Smackdown series, and the later Day of Reckoning titles, and anticipates what is to come in the future from THQ’s WWE series of titles. He is also greatly interested in Yukes future with their recent purchase of New Japan Pro Wrestling and their planned series incorporating the company, and how Midway plan to utilise their TNA license.
Clarkey hopes to bring his own take to the Video Games section of Wrestling 101, hoping to bring a mix of past and present to sustain the interest of the avid fans and the newcomers to the Wrestling genre.
