The Royal Rumble is my favourite WWE PPV, so this Tagged Classics collection was one I looked forward to reviewing. The first disc takes us back eight years to 2001 and the beginning of the “Road to WrestleMania”. This era was brilliant and little things like the Attitude Era opening to WWF programming, cutting to WWF New York, Earl Hebner in a WWF's referee shirt and the wrestlers who were around at the time all add up to a nostalgia trip that never gets old....

Releasing the old classics from WWE's back catalogue is a fantastic idea and this double-set continues that great tradition. 2000 was one of the best years WWE has had from a creative and in-ring standpoint and these two PPVs are filled with great wrestling matches and guys at the peak of their career...

Welcome back to my new series of columns reviewing past WWE shows, and as its WrestleMania week, it seems only appropriate for this column to be based around WrestleMania X8. So, here we go with the eighteenth instalment of WrestleMania, and the WrestleMania return of the biggest wrestling star in history...

Welcome to a new series of columns reviewing past WWE shows, heading back in time to days when Triple H and The Undertaker were the top names, Chris Jericho was putting over main event talent, and the Big Show turned heel to face and back again within the space of a few weeks...

The WWE Tagged Classics have always been a favourite of mine, mainly due to the fact you can view Attitude Era PPVs with no edits to the company name, no blurring on turnbuckles, t-shirts, titles, etc and that the atmosphere just seemed better. Sure, rose-tinted specs are worn when watching these events, but since that isn’t against the law (yet), I will continue to look back with fondness...

In Your House started as a response to WCW adding to their PPV schedule. The first In Your House event actually saw the WWF run a competition to win a house in Florida and drew the winner's name live at the event. The shows usually ran around 2hrs in length, thus were cheaper than normal PPV shows at the time, feeling more like Saturday Night Main Event specials than actual pay-per-view showcases...

Quite obviously the best thing about the ‘Tagged Classics’ series of DVD’s is that for a inviting price you get to relive and bask in some decent nostalgia from two back to back PPV affairs from consecutive years, or if not enlightened by the featured events before gives you the chance to experience what either your youthful self regrettably missed, or for other reasons you weren’t tuned to the TV set or setting the VCR the first time around...

There have been a ton of better matches. There have been a great deal of better under cards. Better wrestlers have existed and plied their craft. Hell, there have been better wrestling events as a whole if we were to get nitpicky. But as a spectacle, few nights can beat the third annual Wrestlemania...
