The Three Count
T3C: Back to the Drawing Board
by Stephen Ashfield on 22 May 2007
Welcome to another Three Count and this time around I’m taking a look at what’s been happening in WWE these past few weeks. There’s certainly been a number of events which has left the companies plans in tatters but have the new ideas been fully thought through and is it perhaps time to end this whole brand extension when it comes to having two champions?

T3C: The History of WrestleMania
by Stephen Ashfield on 31 March 2007
When it's time for Wrestlemania, everything else fades into insignificance. We need escapism in this world, we need great entertainment and to watch great athletes. Wrestlemania is all that and more. In a Three Count special, it's time to look back over the history of the event that changed wrestling forever...

T3C: Wrestlemania 23 Preview - ‘Bald will suit you Vince!’
by Stephen Ashfield on 31 March 2007
So we come to the biggest show of the year and a rather strangely constructed Wrestlemania 23 event. Despite being present the Raw tag champs, IC Champion and ECW World Champion aren’t putting their belts on the line. No sign either of a cruiserweight title match or Smackdown tag title match either. Why have titles if they’re not going to be defended on the biggest show of the year? As is often the case Mr McMahon thinks he’s more important than his wrestlers and again will steal the limelight in his Battle of the Billionaires match which will see him doing Kojak impressions for the next few months. Time to preview Wrestlemania 23...

T3C: Do we really need ECW?
by Stephen Ashfield on 2 December 2006
Once there was a wrestling company that was innovative, entertaining and sadly run as well financially as a Christmas hamper business. ECW changed wrestling all over the world, it may not have had the highest attendances and could only dream of the kind of buy rates WWE get on an off-day but they’ll live on in our memories forever. Of course ECW isn’t dead is it? It still exists in the mind of Vince McMahon who saw some dollar signs in front of his eyes and believed he could make some money by resurrecting ECW. This month it has its first PPV but do we really need ECW?

by Stephen Ashfield on 4 November 2006
So what was Taboo about a Tuesday then? Oh yeah crap PPV buy rates, that's what. Nothing to do with the crap that goes on in the ring though of course. Well it's time to click on the vote button as many times as you want and get ready for Cyber Sunday...

THWD: The case for a WWE off-season By Tink Holloway on 3 May 2008
My goodness, how long ago does Wrestlemania seem already!? Despite the WWE’s attempts to link everything they could at Backlash with WM24, the night felt far detached from the bright lights of the Citrus Bowl. It’s a shame that there is so little time to take in what happened at the biggest event of the [...]
THWD: MMA and Wrestling? By Tink Holloway on 25 April 2008
I’d like to make a survey asking fans of professional wrestling why it is that they watch it. I wonder how many of them would answer because it’s a form of combat? I only wonder about this because over the last 3 or 4 years I’ve become increasingly perplexed at the close proximity of sports-entertainment [...]
THWD: UK - The WWE?s nice little earner By Tink Holloway on 18 April 2008
Ever since I was very young and watched my first WWE (F as it was at the time) pay-per-view, Royal Rumble 1994, I had always wanted to see it live. The way Vince McMahon would assure everybody that the arena had gone cold when The Undertaker came out and the fan reaction to Bret Hart?s [...]
KR: The Road to WrestleMania By Robert Heard on 29 March 2008
Right, well it is well known that I am a Puro writer and have never written on the subject of American Wrestling. But a Puro blog on the eve of WrestleMania seems wrong, not in the least because WrestleMania is not a Japanese event at all?HustleMania is but then the less said about that the [...]
KR: The BIG Statement with a BIG Show By Robert Heard on 29 March 2008
| So WrestleMania, the biggest event on the calendar for wrestling fans will be a huge event. It will be the second ever to be held completely outdoors. It is reported it will pump twenty five million into the local economy and bring 60,000 people to Orlando as well.
