Press Release:

British professional wrestling hasn't been seen in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire for a number of years, since former sell-out events taking place at the Pavilion. Once the Pavilion was closed, British/UK wrestling was not seen in Hemel Hempstead, with the nearest events being held in Watford. However, thanks to one of Britain's top wrestling promotions, Revolution British Wrestling, the fun and action of professional wrestling is returning to Hemel Hempstead at the Woodhall Farm Community Centre in Datchet Close, Hemel Hempstead!

The date is set for Saturday 28th February 2004, in what will hopefully be a series of events planned for this year.

Revolution British Wrestling are one of the premier wrestling promotions currently operating in the United Kingdom. A unique blend of talent from around the country compete on regular RBW events, including the stars of the ITV Saturday Afternoon Wrestling seen throughout the 70s and 80s including the deaf and dumb, forty year wrestling legend Alan Kilby, Sheffield's blonde bombshell "Rock 'n' Roll Express" Blondie Barratt and Luton's top champion technical wrestler, Johnny Kidd. Along with that, RBW plays home to a number of Britain's top wrestlers including England's Number One, James Mason, Colombia's invader "Misfit" Jorge Castano and many more.

Saturday 28th February sees two Championship contests, with the British Welterweight and British Tag Team Championships on the line. On top of this another three bouts of professional wrestling are planned for the evening.

The reigning British Welterweight Champion and Southern Alliance member "The Gift" Ross Jordan has been challenged by former training partner Marc Shaman in a unique treat for wrestling fans, a TITLE VS HAIR contest! The stipulation is that if Shaman defeats Jordan, then he will be the new British Welterweight Champion, but if Jordan overcomes Shaman, then Shaman's hair will be cut off in the ring by Ross Jordan!

Also on the bill is a defence of the British Tag Team Championships when current Champions from the Southern Alliance, Stixx and Chris Wyld make a title defence. Appearing in the opposite corner will be two of Britain's greatest young stars, Sheffield's Will Assault and Wolverhampton's "Golden Boy" Cameron Knite. The Southern Alliance have been successfully defending their Championships around the country in recent months and have usually won the contests by breaking the rules. This event may see a change in this, with a new referee being appointed to keep control of the match.

One of the main attractions of the evening's wrestling will be Luton's most famous technical wrestling star, the current British Middleweight Champion, Johnny Kidd. Kidd was a great star during the 80s where he wrestled all the big names from yesteryear, including the likes of Mick McManus, Johnny Saint, Danny Boy Collins and many more. Kidd is still in great shape, and ready to take on all challengers. His opponent that evening will depend on the winner of two Gosport stars Kris Kay and the UK Kid, who will be wrestling a week before at another event in Enfield, London/Middlesex.

Channel Four TV programme "The Salon" played host recently to one of Britain's top rising stars, Sammy Ray from Blackpool. Sammy Ray looks destined for great things in his career, and looks to raise his profile in British wrestling even further over the next few months. Ray will be meeting Birmingham's "Sadistic" Jack Storm, a very dangerous wrestler, in a singles contest. Both wrestlers are looking to rise in the British Middleweight division.

To round of the evening, there will be an over-the-top rope Battle Royal, which will feature all of the wrestlers from the evening's wrestling in the ring at the same time. The object is to eliminate opponents by forcing them over the top rope to the ground. The last man standing will be crowned the King of the Ring.

All of the action is set to take place on Saturday 28th February 2004, with doors opening at 7.15pm and the first bout scheduled for 7.45pm.

Tickets are now on sale via the official RBW website (link below) and by telephone on 07940-476612, at a value-for-money price of 8.00 for adults, 6.00 for children/OAPs and 25.00 for a family ticket. Tickets will be available on the door on the night of the evening, but it is wise to book in advance to avoid disappointment.
