Press Release

We have received word today that "Sensation of the Nation" Rob Hunter, who was set to meet Johnny Kidd for the British Middleweight Championship this Saturday in Enfield, London/Middlesex, will not be appearing as planned.

It has been exposed that Rob Hunter has accepted an financial offer by America's Tex Benedict to take his place in the Championship bout. To the surprise of many, Hunter accepted, and the match now is Tex Benedict meeting Johnny Kidd for the British Middleweight Championship.

No other changes to the card have been made to the rest of the card:

Revolution British Wrestling
Saturday 15th May 2004
Celbic Hall, 77 Lancaster Road, Enfield, London/Middlesex, EN2 0DW

Saturday 15th May 2004 sees the fifth British professional wrestling event held by Revolution British Wrestling at the Celbic Hall in Enfield, London/Middlesex, next door to the RBW London Training Centre.

Live wrestling has been featured four times recently at the Celbic Hall in Enfield, with the venue gaining a rapid reputation of being the home to top British professional wrestling action. The venue has seen some incredible events this year, including the epic six-round encounter for the British Middleweight Championship between Johnny Kidd and "Golden Boy" Cameron Knite to the RBW debut of "Wildcat" Robbie Brookside last month.

This event stars two Championship contest, which sees the British Middleweight and British Tag Team Championships both on the line. On top of that, three other contests will take place, featuring some of the top stars of British wrestling.

Catchweight Contest - Spud (Birmingham) vs "Sadistic" Jack Storm (Birmingham)

In catchweight competition, two of RBW's top young stars make their respective returns to action.

Former British Welterweight Champion, Spud, has been sidelined with an injury he sustained in December, which unfortunately prevented him from getting a rematch with "The Gift" Ross Jordan, following a Sheffield clash between the two, which saw Jordan unfairly defeat Spud. Spud's injury is now healed, and he has already voiced his eagerness for a contest against Ross Jordan soon.

"Sadistic" Jack Storm is rapidly making himself a great name in professional wrestling. The much-disliked Birmingham star will be making his fourth RBW appearance in this contest, which is his first since a Hemel Hempstead RBW event back in February. Storm, who has earned the nickname of "Sadistic" due to the nature of his wrestling style, looks likely to be one of Britain's top stars in the next few years.

British Tag Team Championship - Stixx (London) and Chris Wyld (Maidstone) (c) vs Sammy Ray (London) and Kid Romeo (Hertfordshire)

The Tag Team division within Revolution British Wrestling can only be described as competitive to say the least. The Southern Alliance currently hold onto the Championships, and have done for over six months, managing to defeat all challengers, usually with controversial tactics. RBW's ruling that any three wrestlers can hold onto the Championships has been effective, with the Southern Alliance choosing Stixx, Chris Wyld and J.C Thunder to defend them.

Last month in Enfield, J.C Thunder and Chris Wyld foiled an attempt by Mark Shaman and Eamon O'Neil in a British Tag Team Championship contest.

In this contest, Stixx and Chris Wyld will do the honours, teaming up against the challengers Kid Romeo who is partnered by the current British Welterweight Champion, Sammy Ray. Romeo narrowly lost to Rich 'n' Famous in singles action last month, and Sammy Ray successfully defended his Championship against Tex Benedict. This will be the first time that Ray and Romeo have teamed up, and with their ability in mind, they stand just as good a chance to win the contest, as previous challengers.

Catchweight Contest - "The Gift" Ross Jordan (Hertfordshire) vs "Golden Boy" Cameron Knite (Wolverhampton)

One of the most disliked wrestlers in RBW is the Southern Alliance's "The Gift" Ross Jordan. Jordan is a former British Welterweight Champion, and was defeated for the Championship by Sammy Ray back in March at Enfield. Ross Jordan, upset following over four months of holding the Championship, is back looking to retain his i-ring reputation and eventually his Championship.

Unfortunately standing in his way for this contest, is the returning "Golden Boy" Cameron Knite. Knite has just returned from another successful wrestling tour of the USA, and is refocused and determined to get back into the swing of things in this contest. Another British Middleweight Championship contest against Johnny Kidd is on the horizons, and many feel that this time, it could be Cameron Knite who walks away with the gold.

Battle Gauntlet

Traditionally, the evening is set to be rounded off with an over-the-top rope Battle Royal contest. Alike the last month, this will be a Battle Gauntlet, with wrestlers entering the contest one-by-one rather than all at the beginning. This is set to star all of the wrestlers seen earlier on the event, as a few surprises, as well as some graduate RBW trainees from both London and Nottingham involved.

Merchandise

A full range of RBW merchandise will be available at this live event as well. Official video and DVD releases of previous RBW events, including all Enfield events (except for April) will be available, as well as keyrings, posters etc. Also, food and drink refreshments will be available.
