Revolution British Wrestling
Saturday 22nd May 2004
Westmill Community Centre, John Barker Place, Westmill Estate, Hitchin, Hertfordshire

Saturday 22nd May 2004 sees the first British professional wrestling event held by Revolution British Wrestling at the Westmill Community Centre in Hitchin, Hertfordshire.

Professional wrestling has not been seen in the town of Hitchin for quite some time, and RBW are proud to be giving Hitchin an authentic British wrestling event, which adds to RBW trying to get British wrestling back into mainstream popularity.

The event stars two Championship contest, which sees the British Middleweight and British Welterweight Championships both on the line. On top of that, three other contests will take place, featuring some of the top stars of British wrestling.

Middleweight Contest - J.C Thunder (London) vs "Golden Boy" Cameron Knite (Wolverhampton)

In Middleweight action, two of RBW's premier middleweights and long-time rivals will do battle. The arrogant star, formerly of Wakefield, now residing in Soho, London, J.C Thunder will be having his first RBW singles contest for quite some time, taking on Wolverhampton's rapidly-rising "Golden Boy" Cameron Knite.

Knite and Thunder have battled on the UK wrestling scene for quite some time, causing a lot of friction and animosity between the two grapplers.

J.C Thunder has been involved primarily in tag team competition for the past few months, as part of the Southern Alliance group. Thunder is also a holder of the British Tag Team Championships.

Returning from another successful tour of the USA, Cameron Knite is looking to restore his position in British wrestling, and rise the ladder of success.

British Welterweight Championship - Sammy Ray (London) (c) vs "Solid Gold" Scott Parker (London)

One of the most competitive weight divisions in the British wrestling scene at the moment is the Welterweight division. The current Champion, Sammy Ray, has been defending his Championship on a regular basis recently, seeing off challenges by "The Gift" Ross Jordan, Tex Benedict, "Silent Riot" Corey Davis and more.

Making his RBW debut in this contest will be "Solid Gold" Scott Parker. A firm fan favourite, Scott Parker will be looking to make an impression in his debut, and has been put straight into a Championship contest, so the stakes are high. Parker has worked in recent years around the United Kingdom, and built up a good reputation which he now brings into Revolution British Wrestling.

His opponent, the reigning Champion, Sammy Ray has been on great form in recent weeks. Ray has also in recent months featured on TV, appearing on hit Channel 4 daily programme, "The Salon", as well as being involved in the filming of the new series of Channel 5's "Monkey Magic", scheduled to be shown later this year. Sammy Ray has been highly impressive, and looks to continue his form for the foreseeable future.

Tag Team Contest - Rich 'n' Famous (Hertfordshire) and To Be Confirmed vs Kid Romeo (Hertfordshire) and Rainz (Killamarsh)

The new group in RBW, named the F.A.G.S by main man Rich 'n' Famous have gained a tag team contest. The group also contains two members of personal security, Evan Gallows and Ma Baker. Evan Gallows recently impressed when he competed at the 10 man London vs Nottingham trainee tag event in Enfield, London/Middlesex at the end of March, which saw Ma Baker as a valet for the London team. Rich 'n' Famous who acted as special guest referee for that contest, has discovered a new-found alliance with Corey Davis, who accompanied him recently, when he was in singles action against Kid Romeo.

Opposing them will be the combination of the 6ft 6ins monster of wrestling, Rainz, who is partnered by one of the top young stars of British wrestling, Kid Romeo. Rainz has tangled with Rich 'n' Famous previously, infamously giving him a chokeslam at the end of the London vs Nottingham trainee tag event in March. Kid Romeo is a long-term rival of Rich 'n' Famous, and is hungry for revenge following his narrow defeat to him in April. Also, last week in Enfield, the group attacked Stu Supreme in tag team action, prompting Rainz to appear attacking two members of the group, with Rich 'n' Famous making the escape.

British Middleweight Championship - Johnny Kidd (Luton) (c) vs "Misfit" Jorge Castano (Cali, Colombia)

The British Middleweight Champion, Johnny Kidd, will be defending his British Middleweight Championship against Colombia's Jorge Castano for the third time in recent months.

Kidd and Castano have wrestled each other twice previously, the first being in Chingford, London at the beginning of March, ending with Kidd narrowly defeating Castano by two falls to one, gaining the winning fall in the last round. The second occasion was in Nottingham at the beginning of April, ending with Jorge Castano putting Johnny Kidd into a leg submission with the score tied at one fall each, causing Kidd to tap out, with Castano temporarily being announced as the winner. However, Castano then refused to break the submission, and the decision was reversed, with Castano being disqualified from the contest, and not winning the Championship.

Jorge Castano then attacked Johnny Kidd after the contest, before Sammy Ray came to chase off Castano. Johnny Kidd then challenged Castano for a rematch in Hitchin, Hertfordshire on Saturday 22nd May, which Castano accepted, leading to this contest.

Both wrestlers have a big score to settle with each other, and we expect this contest to be a fiercely competitive one, which will decide the true winner this time round.

Battle Gauntlet

Traditionally, the evening is set to be rounded off with an over-the-top rope Battle Gauntlet contest. This is set to star all of the wrestlers seen earlier on the event, as a few surprises, as well as some graduate RBW trainees from both London and Nottingham involved.

Merchandise

A full range of RBW merchandise will be available at this live event as well. Official video and DVD releases of previous RBW events from this year, as well as keyrings, posters etc. Also, food and drink refreshments will be available.
