Press Release

Wrestling Returns To Chingford, London!

Live professional wrestling action is set to make a triumphant return to Chingford on Saturday 26th June 2004, when Revolution British Wrestling put on a second event at the Ryan Hall in Chingford Mount Road.

This event follows up on a previous event held on Saturday 6th March this year, which saw a successful evening of wrestling take place, featuring some of the top wrestlers from the United Kingdom.

The follow-up event promises to deliver even more than what the first event did. A top British Championship bout, which see the Welterweight Championship on the line, is set to take place, a tag team bout, a 'Next Generation' bout, as well as a main event putting unarguably two of the best wrestlers in the UK today against each other in a singles contest.

Currently the show line-up has been announced to be containing the following:

Singles Contest

Mark Shaman (City of London)
vs
J.C Thunder (Soho, London)

Two of Revolution British Wrestling's top young stars are set to collide at this Chingford event, with Mark Shaman and J.C Thunder meeting in their first singles contest.

J.C Thunder, representing the Southern Alliance, has collided with Shaman before, firstly being one of the wrestlers to cut off Shaman's hair during a Hair vs Title contest back in February at an RBW Hemel Hempstead event putting Shaman against "The Gift" Ross Jordan. A couple of months later, Mark Shaman and partner Eamon O'Neil were unsuccessful in a British Tag Team Championship match against Chris Wyld and J.C Thunder.

A stipulation has been made in this contest which means if Mark Shaman defeats J.C Thunder, then he and a partner of his choice will receive a contest against the Southern Alliance for the British Tag Team Championship.

Tag Team Contest

The New Breed - Ashe (Chingford, London) & Curve (Chingford, London)
vs
Sammy Ray (Chelsea, London) & Kris Linnell (Holborn, London)

The British Tag Team division has had one of the most active schedules in recent months, with the 'Southern Alliance' holding on tight to the British Tag Team Championships. With many challengers waiting for a shot, another team are looking to get a shot, those being the hometown team from Chingford, the New Breed. The duo, made up of Ashe and Curve are a top tag team, who have made a good impression all over the United Kingdom.

Doing battle with them, will be the reigning British Welterweight Champion, Sammy Ray, who has been in great form recently, defending the Championship successfully against many challengers, most recently J.C Thunder. Partnering Ray will be a new face to the RBW ranks, young star Kris Linnell.

A tag team formed between the two looks to be a very good partnership, and critics believe that whichever team wins this contest will stand a good chance in being able to end the reign of the 'Southern Alliance' may soon be over!

Battle Gauntlet

Stars the wrestlers from the evening's show, as well as a number of extra wrestler additions, in an over-the-top rope contest, similar to a Battle Royal, with the only difference being that the wrestlers will enter individually at one-minute intervals, as opposed to all at the same time.

RBW London 'Next Generation' Singles Contest

J.D Street (London) vs Romeo Jones (London)

This RBW London 'Next Generation' singles contest will be the second-ever to take place. The match contains two of the top young stars in professional wrestling that have graduated from our London-based training centre.

To meet in this contest will be J.D Street, who has an experience advantaged, having wrestled in various contests already, against Romeo Jones who will be making his second-ever wrestling appearance, and his first ever singles contest.

MAIN EVENT - Singles Contest

"Wildcat" Robbie Brookside (Liverpool)
vs
Johnny Kidd (Luton)

This singles bout between two of Great Britain's top wrestlers is one of the most eagerly awaited contests to take place in Revolution British Wrestling ever.

Both wrestlers are noted for their respectful attitudes within wrestling, and this contest between them is bound to reflect that strongly.

"Wildcat" Robbie Brookside has been on great form as of late, with several RBW appearances under his belt. Despite being a new face to RBW, Brookside, similar to Kidd, has been wrestling for over twenty years, yet is in great shape and likely to make an attempt at the British Heavyweight Championship, currently held by the forty year wrestling legend, Alan Kilby.

Johnny Kidd has had a great 2004 up till the end of May, where he was defeated for the British Middleweight Championship by 'Misfit' Jorge Castano, which he won in January of this year. Kidd is notorious for being possibly the greatest technical wrestler currently active in the UK.

It will be hard to predict a winner between these two wrestlers, and we can only wait and see the eventual outcome on Saturday 26th June.
