Breaking WWE News: WWE Shutting Down FCW!

In a shocking announcement made yesterday afternoon, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that, out of the blue, WWE is shutting down their developmental territory, FCW (Florida Championship Wrestling). WWE told the Bright House Sports network (the network that airs the FCW television show in Florida) that, after the next three FCW shows (which were taped last week), FCW will no longer air on television as they are closing the doors on the promotion and moving all of their developmental talent to Stamford, CT for the time being. Many within the WWE and among the developmental stars believe that the company plans to start a new developmental territory in Connecticut (the home of WWE headquarters). This shocking move by the WWE has worried several FCW talent as they will now have to move from Tampa, FL to Stamford, CT (a move which the talent have to pay for themselves).
The word going around is that shutting down FCW is the latest move made by Triple H to help improve the developmental process for the WWE. A lot of issues with FCW is still up in the air as no one expected this announcement. Also, it is worth noting that FCW President Steve Keirn is denying that WWE is closing the territory.
FCW has been the developmental territory for the WWE since 2008 and has produced some of the WWE’s biggest Superstars, such as Sheamus, Dolph Ziggler, Brodus Clay, Evan Bourne, Kofi Kingston, Jack Swagger, Drew McIntyre, David Otunga, Wade Barrett, and Alberto Del Rio.
