WWE/TNA: Ric Flair Released from TNA & Lawsuit Update

Posted on June 19th, 2012 by

PWInsider.com is reporting that court documents brought up during the court proceedings between WWE and TNA reveal that TNA Wrestling released Ric Flair from the company on May 11. While this is not a surprise in the least, as Flair has wanted out of his contract for the last couple of months, what is interesting is that, part of TNA’s lawsuit against the WWE that accuses the Connecticut company of using TNA contract information, revealed to them by a former employee of both companies, to lure TNA talents, most notably Ric Flair, to leave TNA for WWE. Part of TNA’s claim against the WWE is that Flair no-showed a scheduled appearance at TNA’s Sacrifice pay-per-view on May 13, which was two days after Flair’s contractual release. Since Flair was technically a “free man” at the time, this fact calls TNA’s bluff as they listed Flair as being “under contract” when they filed the lawsuit several weeks after Flair’s release.

As previously reported, Triple H is heavily supporting Ric Flair returning to the WWE in some capacity with Flair possibly being an on-screen manager or having something to do with the upcoming WWE Network.
