WWE: More Details on Saturday Morning Slam

Posted on August 10th, 2012 by

WWE.com has made the official announcement that WWE will indeed be debuting a new 30-minute television show geared towards kids and young teenagers that will air on a weekly basis on Saturday mornings. The new show, called “WWE Saturday Morning Slam”, will air on the CW Network as part of its new five-hour Vortexx block of children’s programming. Saturday Morning Slam is being treated as the anchor of Vortexx, which will feature the shows Cubix, Rescue Heroes, Power Rangers: Lost Galaxy, Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL, Iron Man: Armored Adventures, Justice League Unlimited, Yu-Gi-Oh! Classic, & Dragon Ball Z Kai. The block will air from 7AM-12PM every Saturday morning starting on August 25 with Saturday Morning Slam airing at 10AM.

WWE Saturday Morning Slam will feature one match exclusive to the show with the rest of the time being used for backstage segments, behind-the-scenes footage, and footage from WWE’s Be A Star rallies, as well as other ‘community initiatives’.

WWE Chairman & CEO Vince McMahon commented on the new kids show, “WWE has a long history on Saturday mornings and we’re thrilled to make our action-packed return with WWE Saturday Morning Slam. The new program enables us to further engage kids and families, a vital component of WWE’s passionate and multi-generational fanbase.”
