WWE: Top Diva Leaving The Company Next Month?

Posted on September 20th, 2012 by diva-beth-phoenix-2

WrestlingInc.com is reporting that former Women’s and Divas Champion Beth Phoenix (Elizabeth Carolan) is finishing up her time in the WWE as a source within the WWE has revealed that Phoenix plans to retire from the business in October. Phoenix has been with the WWE since 2006 when she debuted as an ally of Trish Stratus. During her six-year stint with the company, Phoenix would win the Women’s Title on three different occasions, as well as an impressive run with the Divas Title earlier this year.

If Beth Phoenix does retire next month, that will only leave seven Divas in the WWE who compete on a regular or close-to-regular basis (Eve, Layla, Kaitlyn, Natalya, Alicia Fox, Kelly Kelly, & Tamina Snuka). This will also be the fifth Diva departure this year as the WWE has either parted ways with or released Kharma, Maxine, & The Bella Twins.
