WWE: Will Mick Foley Ever Wrestle Again?

Posted on November 24th, 2012 by

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that it seems highly unlikely at this point and time that former three-time WWE Champion Mick Foley will ever compete inside a WWE ring, or anywhere else, ever again. The 47-year old “Hardcore Legend” has visibly had a hard time simply getting around as evidenced by this past Sunday’s Survivor Series where Foley appeared to be hobbling to ringside prior to the Traditional 5-on-5 Survivor Series Elimination Tag Match. There were rumors a couple of months ago that the WWE may be working to have Foley face CM Punk at WWE TLC, but Foley put those rumors to rest via Twitter, saying “Regarding that rumor about me wrestling CM Punk: I might if I could, but I can’t, so I won’t.”

The Observer notes that, when Foley faced Ric Flair in TNA several months ago, it was widely believed that Foley had wrestled his final match. While Foley himself has not confirmed nor denied it, the general feeling is that TNA really pushed Foley to wrestle time and time again, which made Foley’s departure from the company that much easier as, prior to signing with TNA in late 2008, Foley competed in the 2008 Royal Rumble Match in the WWE, lasting over 11 minutes in the match before getting eliminated by Triple H (who, ironically enough, is very much against the idea of Foley competing in the WWE). To date, the 2008 Royal Rumble Match was Foley’s last match in the WWE as, during that particular stint with the company, Foley made several appearances, but only competed about once a year.
