The twelfth edition of WWE Main Event came to you from the CONSOL Energy Center in Pittsburgh, PA. After defeating Rey Mysterio & Sin Cara in a Tables Match at WWE TLC to become the new #1 Contenders for the WWE Tag Team Titles, Team Rhodes Scholars would get their shot on WWE Main Event as Cody Rhodes & Damien Sandow would square off with Team Hell No, Kane & Daniel Bryan, with the WWE Tag Team Titles on the line!
Match Results
- WWE Tag Team Championship: Team Hell No (c) def. Team Rhodes Scholars by Daniel Bryan (c) pinning Cody Rhodes following the flying headbutt to retain.
- The Prime Time Players def. Team CoBro by Titus O’Neil pinning Zack Ryder following the Clash of the Titus.
Detailed Results
After a brief look at the rivalry between Team Hell No and Team Rhodes Scholars, it was time for the gold to be up for grabs as Team Hell No, Kane & Daniel Bryan, would defend the WWE Tag Team Titles against Team Rhodes Scholars, Cody Rhodes & Damien Sandow. Team Rhodes Scholars would come within an eyelash of winning the WWE Tag Team Titles on several occasions during the match, but, in the end, Kane would put an end to it with a chokeslam to Cody Rhodes, which was followed up with the flying headbutt by Daniel Bryan en route to Team Hell No successfully retaining the WWE Tag Team Titles.
WWE Main Event also featured a tag team match pitting The Prime Time Players against the on-again, off-again tag team of Zack Ryder & Santino Marella, Team CoBro. In the end, it was Titus O’Neil hitting the Clash of the Titus on Zack Ryder en route to picking up the win for The Prime Time Players.
