I feel like I always use some variation of “What I love about the Shield is…” as a lead-in whenever I talk about them, so it seems appropriate here. Ever since their debut it seems that every time the Shield performs there is something new to love about them. This week’s Raw is no different.
Canned Heat on the TWO Board mentioned that Punk vs Cena was a perfect example of a great highspotty match, which got me to thinking. I loved the hell out of the big spots in this, but if you think it was purely about the moves (cool as they were in their own right) then you are missing quite a bit of the bigger picture. Why they did those moves and when was absolutely crucial to the story of the match and the story of their entire series.

2012 is rapidly moving further and further away (how is it already February?!), but let us pause for a moment and take one final look at the past year. The results for the TWO/W101 Wrestling Awards are in, now join me as I count down my own personal best of the best for WWE in 2012…

Another month, another PPV. This one doesnt seem to have much interest going in, but the card looks solid as hell as far as matches go, so lets see how it goes. Oh, of course, SOMEONE WILL BE FIRED BUT PROBABLY NOT! YEAH!
So this week there must have been a problem with the international feed of Raw or something, because they showed a main event of Cena beating up Cole that had to have been straight out of mid-2011 when Cole was the top heel. Right? Right?!
As we watch Raw and Smackdown this week there is one important lesson I need to impart to you all…
This show, while not the biggest of the year, certainly didnt look bad on paper – Bryan/Punk, the four-way, and presumably lots of Cena/Ace shenanigans. Nobody can interfere, so of course we all want to know, who will interfere in their match? Lets find out.
The next steps on our travels through the year of 2006 take us all over the place: to Japan, to TNA, and to WWE where we have a Smackdown PPV and the nascent beginnings of my kind of Smackdown TV.

So, change of plans. I try to keep up with Raw and Smackdown every week, but its becoming harder and harder to do so with…my life in the way. While I will continue to try and write current TV up as much as I can, I thought I’d also change tack and write about something I have been able to watch quite a lot of in the meantime: 2006…
So, that happened. This show was so monumental on so many levels that I had to do this straight away. So much…happened.
Its that time of year again, Wrestlemania is upon us. There’s much to look forward to – icons clashing ‘Once in a Lifetime’, legends battling to ‘end’ an era, world titles and workrate, GMs and girlies, celebrities galore. The only thing to do is to get right to it.
In light of my busier schedule and my decreasing ability to watch Raw and Smackdown anywhere near on time or in full, I’m going to be trying something a little different – namely, a weekly recap of however much or little wrestling I have seen this week. Essentially, same Reports, just bundled into one and posted on the weekend.
I love it when Mania season rolls around and we sometimes get these Raw shows that are just brilliant up and down and make you want Wrestlemania to come tomorrow. Welcome to this week’s Raw.
