NOAH LIMITS RESULTS AND NEWS

In full results from FWA NOAH Limits 2, held last night at the Colchester Hippodrome in Essex in front of a sell-out crowd:

‘The Pukka One’ Darren Burridge beat Stevie Knight by submission

Leroy Kincade beat James Tighe by countout to retain the All-England Title

‘The South City Thriller’ Hade Vansen and ‘The Anarchist’ Doug Williams beat Takeshi Moreshima and Muhammad Yone in a non-title match

‘The Specialist’ Mark Sloan and Ollie Burns defeated Dan Head and Max Voltage to win the Academy Best of 3 Series

Charlie Rage pinned Andy Simmonz

‘The Wonderkid’ Jonny Storm beat ‘The Phoenix’ Jody Fleisch and Billy Kidman to become number one contender to the FWA British Heavyweight Title

NEWS –

* Jonny Storm is the number one contender to the FWA British Heavyweight Title after his three-way win against ‘The Phoenix’ Jody Fleisch and Billy Kidman last night in an absolutely incredible Match of the Year candidate which featured a balcony dive from Kidman that no-one at the Colchester Hippodrome will ever forget!

This means Jonny’s quest can continue to finally win the title that has always eluded him and the only question remains, when will Storm cash in his title shot? FWA officials have said he must challenge for the belt within the next 90 days so expect ‘The Wonderkid’ to sign on the dotted line to face Hade Vansen, or whoever the champ will be, very soon.

* If Hade is the champ at the time, Jonny may have his work cut out. ‘The South City Thriller’ looked impressive last night when he and ‘The Anarchist’ Doug Williams beat Pro Wrestling NOAH’s GHC Tag Team Champions Muhammad Yone and Takeshi Moreshima in a memorable non-title match.  Vansen scored the pin on Yone after a devastating top rope South City Driller.

* ‘The Pukka One’ Darren Burridge is now in line for an All-England Title shot after defeating Stevie Knight (a replacement for Paul Tyrrell, who had a serious eye injury and was unable to wrestle), although Tyrrell made it clear afterwards that he still has unfinished business with the Chav God.

* Meanwhile James Tighe, who Burridge defeated at FWA Crunch, is also snapping at the heels of the current All-England Champ Leroy Kincade. Tighe pulled a stunt on Leroy last night, sending PPW duo Ricky Hype and Matt Vaughn into the ring in his place (using the excuse that Leroy had issued an open challenge to any wrestler from the UK), then attacked Kincade after the undefeated star made short work of the Welshmen. The Kincade-Tighe match eventually ended when Leroy barely beat Tighe back into the ring to win by countout after delivering his jaw-dropping Spiral Tap from the top rope to the entrance stage!

ALL-STAR TEAM REVEALED

The final two members of Team All-Star to face Team FWA on Saturday, May 13 for the British Inter-Federation Cup have been announced and they are as follows:

Robbie ‘The Body’ Dynamite

The Stoke-on-Trent powerhouse is one half of the All-Star Tag Team Champions with Mikey Whiplash.

Dean ‘2Xtreme’ Allmark

The current All-Star British Mid-Heavyweight Champion, one half of the popular UK Dream Team and the son-in-law of the head of All-Star Promotions himself, Brian Dixon.

Robbie Dynamite and Dean 2Xtreme will join Robbie Brookside and Five Star Flash as the representatives of Team All-Star on Saturday, May 13.

The pairings for the four singles matches on the night of May 13 will be announced on www.frontierwrestling.com very shortly.

Aside from the British Inter-Federation Cup matches, there will be one other non-Cup match on this show. This will reignite the School War here in the FWA as the EntouRAGE’s FWA Academy duo of head trainer ‘The Specialist’ Mark Sloan and his pupil Ollie Burns square off against the FWA:M Future Shock Wrestling school team of ‘Retro Pop’ - Dave Rayne and Chris Egan.

Coming off their victory in the deciding match of a Best of Three Series at FWA NOAH Limits 2 over Dan Head and Max Voltage, Sloan and Burns have proclaimed themselves the ‘Kings of the Best of Three’. Thus the EntouRAGE has challenged Egan and Rayne on May 13 in what also can be seen as the rubber match in a Best of Three Series as Sloan/Burns and Egan/Rayne are tied one match apiece after their previous clashes in Morecambe and Blackpool last October.

TICKETS ARE NOW ON SALE for FWA v All-Star for the British Inter-Federation Cup at The Dome, Morecambe, on Saturday May 13. They cost £16 for front row ringside, £10 for adults, £7.50 for children and £30 for a family ticket. The box office number is 01524 582803.

Featuring – TEAM FWA

Stevie Knight (captain), ‘The South City Thriller‘ Hade Vansen (accompanied by Nikita), ‘The Wonderkid Jonny Storm’ and Spud

VERSUS

TEAM ALL-STAR

Robbie Brookside (captain), Five Star Flash, Robbie ‘The Body’ Dynamite and Dean 2Xtreme.

The rules for this contest are as follows. There will be four singles matches on the night. Each match will have a 15 minute time limit. The winner of each match will score two points for his team. A draw will earn each wrestler one point for his team. The fifth match will be a Survivor four-on-four elimination tag match with no time limit where the winning team will receive two points for each surviving team member.  The team with the most points at the end of the Survivor Tag Team match will be declared the winners.  In the event of a tie, Team All-Star will retain the British Inter-Federation Cup.

PLUS School War Tag Match, Best of Three Series Decider

The EntouRAGE (FWA Academy) v Retro Pop (FWA:M Futureshock)

‘The Specialist’ Mark Sloan and Ollie Burns v Dave Rayne and Chris Egan

FWA TO THE MIDLANDS

The FWA is proud to announce a show at a brand new venue - the Cornbow Hall in Halesowen near Birmingham – on Saturday, June 3.

The Halesowen Cornbow Hall is at 10 Hagley Street, Halesowen, West Midlands, B63 3AT.

Doors open at 6.30pm and the show starts at 7pm. Tickets cost £15 for front row ringside, £10 for adults and £7 children/concessions, £30 for a family ticket.

Stay tuned for matches to be signed for FWA Live in Halesowen coming very soon!

ICEMAN-TRAVELL NEWS

Following what was an extremely violent altercation at FWA Crunch, the FWA has been informed by Broxbourne Civic Hall that the flagship venue will not sanction any more one-on-one matches between ‘The Righteous’ Paul Travell and ‘The Insane Icon’ Iceman.

Concerned that other venues may follow suit should there be a repeat of the violence and bloodshed that took place when these two dangerous individuals clashed on April 2, FWA officials have taken action to keep Travell and Iceman apart for the time being and so they will not be booked on the same FWA show for the foreseeable future.

The only way FWA fans will be able to see Paul Travell v Iceman is by staying tuned to for news of the upcoming release of the DVDs for FWA Crunch and FWA Who’s Fooling Who.contin
