WWE: Wachovia Center press release

WWE Brings Royal Rumble to Philadelphia

World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) RAW and SMACKDOWN! brands bring the lights, cameras and an international television audience to the Wachovia Center on Sunday, January 25 at 7:45 p.m. as it hosts the Royal Rumble Pay-Per-View, presented by Playstation 2, live in Philadelphia. Tickets go on sale Saturday, December 20 at 10 a.m.

The Royal Rumble is a yearly tradition dating back to 1989. 2004 marks the first time that the Pay-Per-View event will take place in Philadelphia. The Royal Rumble match features a grueling test of strength as two individuals start in the ring and every two minutes a new participant enters the ring. This match will feature 15 superstars from RAW and 15 from SMACKDOWN! There could be as many as 30 superstars in the ring at one time. The winner of the Royal Rumble secures a title shot at Wrestlemania XX in March. Additional matches will also be announced.

We are truly honored to have the WWE bring one of their major Pay-Per-View events to Wachovia Center, said Comcast-Spectacor Senior Vice President John Page. This will be one of the rare occasions when both WWE RAW and SMACKDOWN! brand superstars come together for one unbelievable night of live professional wrestling.

Tickets to WWEs Royal Rumble are $300, which includes a special commemorative take-home chair, $90, $65, $50, $35 and $25. Tickets go on sale on Saturday, December 20 at 10 a.m. and are available at the Wachovia Center box office and all Ticketmaster locations throughout the Delaware Valley. Tickets can also be charged by phone by calling (215) 336-2000 or (856) 338-9000 or online at ticketmaster.com. Group tickets can be purchased by calling (215) 389-9543.
