UFC 47 card shaping up

With just over one month to go until UFC 46, Zuffa have been looking to get things in motion for their following show in late March/early April.

The speculation throughout the week was that Zuffa had sent out contracts to both Tim Sylvia and Andrei Arlovski to fight for the vacant UFC Heavyweight Championship. It was also strongly rumoured that contracts had been sent out to both Tito Ortiz and Chuck Liddell to fight each other in their long awaited match up.

Well, now courtesy of mmaweekly.com, www.wrestling101.com can reveal that both of the formerly rumoured bouts that would headline UFC 47 are official. That’s right, UFC President Dana White has confirmed that both matchups are signed. Tim Sylvia will battle Andrei Arlovski for the vacant UFC Heavyweight Championship, while Tito Ortiz and Chuck Liddell will try to resolve their grudge in a Light Heavyweight Bout. It’s also believed that the winner of the Ortiz/Liddell match will get another shot at the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship and fight the winner of the Randy Couture/Vitor Belfort clash at UFC 46.
