Welcome one and all once again to the weekly delve in to the UK Scene. Now this week I have my first big exclusive of 2004 which is good news for the British Wrestling scene so this year I only waited two weeks before giving you a scoop because I am so kind to you guys this year. All of this plus the news making the headlines this week including my annoyance with X-Wrestling, news on the live events planned by NWA-UK this year and much more so sit back relax and most importantly hopefully enjoy.

I won’t leave you guys in suspense I am going to start with the big scoop first as that’s what you guys came here to read. The big news this week is that EWW the innovators of the British Wrestling scene are back in action and boy are they back. People have been wondering for the last two years since EWW “castled” which was suppose to be the big comeback show what had happened to what WOW magazine called “the most original wrestling show this side of the Atlantic.” For the fans now though the wait is finally over.

I don’t want to steal EWW’s thunder by going in to too many details but this weekend over at their website http://www.extremeworldwarfare.com will be officially announcing all the details on their big return show including the official signings of the first matches on the card. The new EWW revolution will feature a new roster under a new direction as “The Dominator” Stuart Allen who has took sole charge of the company as Jamie Clubb has stepped down from his promoting role.

This is the best news in my opinion of the last few months because since EWW went on a hiatus after “Castled” there was a huge void left in the UK Scene as no one was offering the originality which they did. “Castled” was a brilliant event and one which was suppose to herald the return of EWW although unfortunately things went extremely quiet after the event to the point people were starting to think they would never see EWW again.

Currently down at the EWW website you can find out all the latest news including the current roster line-up which features a wealth of experienced names and new young talent. The line up includes the experienced likes of The UK Pitbulls, The Dominator, The Flatliner, Thunder and Ashe to add to this it has international talent Madcow and Frankie Capone and if this wasn’t enough it has impressive rookies like Cyclone and “Psycho” Silvera. So make sure to keep checking the website this weekend for all the news on EWW’s big return.

Now I must go from talking about a news story that makes me very happy to one that makes me very sad which is the latest announcement to come from X-Wrestling HQ. They have a big announcement planned for the 12th of January but decided to make another announcement before Monday’s news which was to tell the UK fans that British Wrestlers Jorge Costano and UK Pitbulls have been released from the company.

Phil Lowe of X-Wrestling has been criticized for the lack of British wrestlers being used already but then to go and axe the few that you do have has made me even more annoyed. This show now might as well be held anywhere in the world as it is a completely international event now and is doing very little for British Wrestling. All I hope is that other British Wrestlers are brought in to replace those let go so at least some British guys will be able to work on a big card. I think it is a shame that the British guys aren’t being given a go as many other so called big events over the years put on in the UK have used British stars and there are now many British workers you have held their own on US shores so they are more than ready for the challenge.

There have been some weird happenings up at BCW this week. First Spinner McKenzie was put in a list of people to fight Stevie Knight at the next BCW show but Spinner had announced he had finished with wrestling before this announcement was made. So then just to confuse matters more Spinner has left a message on the BCW forum which was done completely in character saying that a match with Stevie does not appeal to him and that a match against Stevie would not get him back in the ring. Now most say that Spinner is just keeping Kayfabe and sorting out a mess up but some say this could even be a work and part of the storyline. I am unsure to what is happening with BCW right now but it has been a confusing week that’s for sure.

NWA-UK have started the year with good intentions by announcing all the dates for their first live shows of the year. The run sees them through to April visiting the old haunts of Kent, Essex and Herts so all the hardcore NWA-UK fans will be very happy with the news. At the same time NWA – Ireland have also announced their first dates of the year which include trips to Dublin and Co. Wicklow in February to kick their year off. For more details on how you can get tickets for these live events go to: hammerlockwrestling.com

Must say it was great to read Scott Future’s first official column for the site I think he will be an asset to the UK team and I can wait to read his next column. Talking about new staff I would like to take this opportunity to officially welcome Stephen Anderson aka Stevon to the UK writers’ team. Make sure to read his first column for the site when you’re done with this one to feed your UK Scene addiction. The backbone of our UK writers team though has to be the one and only Goldy who gives you all the news, press releases and show results from the week gone by in the TWO Newsletter so remember to receive the newsletter you have to sign up to the forums then go in to your control panel and select yes to being notified by email from Board administrators and leaders if not your missing out.

Now this week after we announced our award winners Premier Promotions (PWF) announced their 2003 awards winners. Doug Williams won wrestler of the year for the second time. Robbie Brookside and Jace the Ace tied for most popular wrestler of the year, UK Kid won best young wrestler award and Lee Darren won best Villain. All of the these awards were voted on by Premier Wrestling club members.

Keeping on the theme of awards before I go this week must do a quick plug for the biggest British online 2003 Wrestling awards which are happening down at the Sun Online right now. There are many categories to pick from including favourite wrestlers, moments and feuds in the WWE so be sure to add your vote to the masses by clicking here.

Until next time,

Adam Sibley
