NWA:Ireland Sunday February 8th show report

NWA IRELAND IN BRAY

The Wolfe Tone Community Centre where this was held is probably the hardest place in Bray to find. You wouldn’t find it unless you were looking for it, tucked in a little alley between a pub and an off licence.

I was almost late for the show but with me being so smooth and all, my perfect timing kicked in and the show started the moment I walked in. It was as if they were waiting for me. It was a packed house and every seat was taken, some had to stand.

ADAM ABZ VS KEITH THE HOOLIGAN

Abz is fast making a fan out of me. I liked him in Donaghmede and liked him here as well. He is not the best wrestler in NWA but certainly one of the best personalities. Nice little short opener with Keith the Hooligan picking up the win.

KURUPT AND MUSCLES MANLEY VS PAUL FURY AND VINCE MAYHEM W/ BEAUTIFUL BENNY B

This was a really good and funny match. Muscles Manley seemed to be in good form and had me laughing with some of his trash talk during the match. Good match with Kurupt and Muscles Manley picking up the win.

“THE INVESTMENT” ROSS BROWNE VS PAUL TRACEY

Ross Browne gets on the mic before hand as the crowd chants “Ross loves sheep”. Ross argues that he can’t love sheep as he got a hickey from a girl last night and displays his hickey for all to see. He brings up some history saying that last time he was here Fergal Devitt busted him open with a trash can lid and that tonight he is going to have to settle for revenge on Fergals partner Paul Tracey. An okay match and for NoLimits who may be reading, yes Paul Traceys nipples were hanging out again. The match went back and forth until a mystery man wearing a banaclava ran in and nailed Paul Tracey with a steel tray which Ross Browne took advantage of and got the pin. The mystery man then unmasked to reveal Carl “Shooter” O’Rourke who sided with Ross Browne as the home crowd chanted “You sold out!”. Fergal Devitt then came to the rescue of Paul Tracey as Ross and Shooter retreated but not before Ross challenged Fergal to face Shooter later on in the night which Fergal accepted.

AGUILA W/ JOHNNY MOSS VS STEFAN WALLAFSKI

This match was originaly meant to be Johnny Moss Vs Stefan Wallafski and I was really dissappointed to see it changed as I was really looking forward to seeing Johnny Moss wrestle but instead we get Aguila who is also good but I wanted Johnny Moss damn it! Stefan is a HUGE guy, so huge that he drew “fat boy” chants fromt he crowd. The match was basically the tiny Aguila trying ways to get Stefan down but just bouncing off him instead. Decent match with Aguila getting the win thanks to help from Johnny Moss who looked intense in his short burst of action.

SEAN “MAXER” BRENNAN VS GONZO DE MONDO VS PADDY “SUICIDE MACHINE” MORROW – FALLS COUNT ANYWHERE MATCH

Paddy Morrow was awesome in this match, Gonzo De Mondo was his usual intense self and Brennan was good. The match for the first half went like a typical NWA Ireland match but then Paddy started busting out the big moves such as an asai moonsault to the outside, a couple of planchas and a swanton. Great match, best of the night with Paddy Morrow taking the win.

PHIL “THE THRILL” BOYD AND DANNY “RENEGADE ANGEL” BUTLER VS STYCH AND MIKKOLA

Sadly no “Phil The Trifle” chants this time around. Stych looked much more energetic this time out than he did in Donaghmede. He looks far more comfortable being a face than a heel. Good match again which I think was won by Stych and Mikkola but don’t hold me to that. Phil “The Thrill” looked good.

FERGAL DEVITT VS CARL “SHOOTER” O’ROURKE

This was a close runner for match of the night but was held off by the falls count anywhere match. Good match as both Shooter and Fergal impress me once again. Fergal took an absolute sick bump in the match with his usual running swanton to the outside but Shooter moved out of the way and Fergal just hit nothing but the floor, sick! The match continued to bring the goodness until Shooter finally put Fergal away to get the win, great match.

15 MAN RUMBLE

This Rumble was far better than the one in Donaghmede. Wildcard and Adam Abz were the first two and Wildcard really is amazing. He looks about 12 and is probably around that age but can do nearly everything Rey Mysterio can. It frightens me to think that if he can do that stuff now, what kind of wrestler will he be when he fully matures? Wildcard is definitely one to watch. “The Investment” Ross Browne came out and tried to hide under the ring but Paul Tracey who was not in the rumble came out and got revenge from earlier in the night by tossing Ross Browne from the rumble. More and more got eliminated until it was just down to Stych and Mikkola, the tag team partners. They shook hands and battled briefly before Stych dumped Mikkola and won the Rumble. Good rumble to end the night.

THOUGHTS: Another great outing from NWA Ireland and like I said last time, you have to check these guys out the next time they do a show. Keep up to date with them at NWAIreland.com. NWA Ireland have made sure that I will be in attendance for any show I can get to in the future and something tells me that they are just getting started.

[Brian’s note: TDS site has a radio show, check back later tonight and it should be up on the site]
