UKWA in association with RBW – info on 22nd February show

Press Release:

Sunday 22nd February 2004 sees the fourth United Kingdom Wrestling Alliance (UKWA) event to take place at The Sherwood, Birly Moor Road, Sheffield, Yorkshire.

The event is help in association with Revolution British Wrestling (RBW), and sponsored by European Wrestling Videos.

Past events at this venue have seen a lot of top wrestling action, with four events taking place within a year, the first one being back in March 2003. Top wrestlers from around the UK have competed on these events, and this event marks no change, with a top quality line-up.

The British Heavyweight Championship Tournament continues, with the second semi-final taking place. Colombia’s “Misfit” Jorge Castano (defeated “Golden Boy” Cameron Knite in November 2003 to advance) will meet one of England’s top wrestlers, James Mason (defeated Keith Myatt in November 2003 to advance).

The winner will meet Alan Kilby, who has defeated both “Rock ‘n’ Roll Express” Blondie Barratt and Stixx to advance to the finals. The final is due to take place in May 2004.

Also on the card is the continuation of one of the top wrestling feuds to take place throughout late 2003, between the renegade group known as the “Southern Alliance” and a combination of popular wrestlers, led by Sheffield’s own Will Assault. Matches have took place around the country, including this venue, primarily focused on the British Tag Team Championships, which the Southern Alliance hold.

Southern Alliance strongman, and one holder of the British Tag Team Championship, Stixx is set to take on Will Assault, who is out for revenge due to Stixx being behind a number of tag team losses in recent months.

The British Welterweight Championship is also up for grabs on this event, with challenger Jack Hazard taking on the reigning Champion, “The Gift” Ross Jordan.

Making his UKWA debut will be Andy Simmonz who will take on the Southern Alliance’s middleweight star J.C Thunder in a singles contest.

At the end of the evening, a six-man elimination contest will take place, putting Will Assault, Jack Hazard and Andy Simmonz against “The Gift” Ross Jordan, Stixx and J.C Thunder.

Tickets are priced at just £5.00 each and can be reserved by telephoning 07879 628071.
