UFC main event in tarnished by steroids

‘Friday night’s UFC heavyweight championship match between Tim Sylvia and Andrei Arlovsky is in jeopardy today because the test Sylvia took a few weeks ago showed trace amounts of steroids.

Sylvia has claimed the steroid Stanozol that showed up in his test from a few weeks ago was from his usage that were caught after his 9/26 test, that he said was from more than nine months ago. Sylvia was given the opportunity to take another test and the results are expected to come tomorrow. If there are still traces of steroids in his system, he would not be allowed to fight. UFC does have a back-up plan, although it is being kept quiet and will be announced tomorrow if Sylvia is not allowed to fight.’
