Commissioner bans swearing at WAW shows

Press Release:

I have been following with great interest the thread on the UKFF regarding Mr Brian Dixon’s criticism of swearing in the FWA.  Whilst I do not agree with many of the aspects of Mr Dixon’s promotion I do agree with him that at family shows there is no need or excuse for profanity.

As WAW is a family oriented company I feel it is incumbent on us to provide a lead for British Wrestling as a whole; we are already at the forefront in providing a good quality product based on British values, we should now give a lead on this issue to.  Our wrestlers skills should speak for themselves in the ring, there should be no need for using crude language.

In my role as Commissioner for WAW I have therefore instituted a strict policy against the use of foul language in the ring.  Any wrestler who is guilty of using such language will be subjected to severe penalties, no matter who they are.

I am sure you will join with me in helping implement this.

Best wishes
