All Japan Results 22/7/04 – Kawada in charge

Toshiaki Kawada ran his own show today under the AJPW banner and invited some wrestlers from outside to compete…. NJPW’s Takemura beat Ishikari, the new All Japan junior hope in the opener with a high angle powerbomb and then Fuchi defeat Osaka Pro’s Ebessan Hansen….

Battlearts Yuki Ishikawa won by referee stop in match number three and in match number five Tanahashi of NJPW granted Honma’s wish and fought him in what was said to be the best match on the show. Tanahashi wrapped it up after a Shining Wizard (a provication to Muto who he’s looking to face) and a Dragon Suplex. His U-30 openweight title was not on the line….

Then in the main event the former student of Kawada, Mitsuya Nagai, came back to All Japan to face his mentor. Kawada continued the soccer craze of late, planting Nagai with a kick to the face and getting the win in this non-title match… Afterwards the two shook hands and reformed their old tag team… with the possible aim to take the Tag Gold from Kendo (whose no longer a AJPW wrestler) and Nagata who won’t defend the gold in All Japan…

Full results are as follows….
