RBW Training Information

At Revolution British Wrestling we offer people the chance to train in a safe environment along with fully insured professional wrestlers. The main trainers being top technical wrestling star Johnny Kidd and British Middleweight Champion “Misfit” Jorge Castano, former British Welterweight Champion Sammy Ray and also Mark Shaman who is the assistant trainer. There are also a number of regular special guest wrestlers such as “The Gift” Ross Jordan, J.C Thunder, Stixx, Chris Wyld, Ashe from The New Breed, Spud and “Sadistic” Jack Storm.

Our training centre is based at the London Martial Arts Centre, which is in Enfield, in North London and on the Middlesex border. This means that there are many ways in which you can get to our centre. Via train the nearest station is Enfield Town, which is on the London Liverpool Street Line. Another way of getting to training is going via Gordon Hill, which is on the Kings Cross Line. Also there are many buses that stop in Enfield and two buses, which stop outside the centre, those being the W8 and the 191.

If you decide to come to our centre, on your first session you must sign up for insurance in case any accidents occur. This costs £8 for someone aged 16 or over and £5 for a child aged from 8 up to 15 years. The insurance will cover you for one year and then it has to be renewed.

When it comes to deciding what to wear for training, we advise that you wear loose fitting clothes, please do not bring trainers or wrestling boots to wear whilst training as these are not allowed in either of the dojo rooms, yet you are, if you need them, allowed to wear elbow and shin pads.

We have two sessions on a Sunday, those being the regular session and the advanced session. We advise people who have not wrestled before or have not been wrestling for a long time to come to the regular session where you can learn the basics of wrestling. People who have been wrestling before and feel that they are ready to move on to more advanced learning can attend the second, more advanced session. The trainers may also advise people when they are ready to move on and push themselves that little bit harder!

The cost of both sessions is £7 each, but if you do both there is a discount of £2, costing a total of £12. The regular session begins at 11am and lasts until 1pm. Then the intensive session starts promptly until 3pm.

Also if the trainers believe that you are progressing well you may be invited to the Saturday night session at the centre. This session costs the same price as normal and starts from 6pm lasting until about 8 to 8.30 pm. Also on selected Saturdays there is the possibility of one-on-one training, which normally costs between £10 – £20 per hour. Please email training@rbwtraining.co.uk for more details and availability.

Every month we are able to offer in-ring training, as we have monthly events at the hall next door, the Celbic Hall. We have in-ring training at the price of £5 from 3pm until 6pm. Dates which live events will take place can be found on the Revolution British Wrestling website.

If training goes successful for you there is the possibility of being booked on Revolution British Wrestling Shows all around the country and your profile being put on our training website. Trainees have been to many events in Enfield, Chingford, Nottingham, Hemel Hempstead and Hitchin, to name a few, to compete in Battle Gauntlets. Some have even been in the Revolution British Wrestling “Next Generation” matches, in which trainees are chosen by the trainers if they have been constantly working hard and seen as being ready to compete in front of an audience. Also trainees were selected to take part in a weeklong event “York Fest 2004”. Many opportunities are given to trainees as long as we believe they are ready to perform and professional in their conduct.
