wZw Results – 27/28/29 August

Friday 27th August 2004 – Whitley Bay Residents Association, Whitley Bay, Tyne and Wear

A crowd of around 170 gathered for the nights entertainment. Tonights show debuted the 8 foot wZw video screen, which gave the wrestlers full enterance video’s and projected the nights matches onto the screen via our ring side camera. This took the show to whole new level increasing entertainment value.

Bomber Mills & AJ Anderson def John Britain & Ritchie Saint in a tag team match.

General Trent Steel def Mark Sloan for the wZw Inter-Promotional Title. Shady Nattrass def Joey Hayes in a non title cruiser division match
The Best Kept Secret ‘Anthony McIntyre’ & Lexx def TJ Cain & Rio Martinez in wZw’s first inter-gender match.

Super Ted Taylor & Carbon def Full Pack in a loosers looses pants tag team match.

Aviv Maayan def Dangerous Damon Leigh Iceman def Tony Warrior ‘The Spitfire’ for the wZw Extreme Title in a I Quit Street Match.

Aftermath: Iceman took to the microphone and decided it was time to retire the title, saying it had gone as far as it could go, he ran down the list of competitors who had battled for, won and lost the title over the last 2 years. Then pointed to the screen and a tribute video to the wrestlers and the title was played. A very moving moment for the wZw team and fans.

Saturday 28th August – Coatham Memorial Hall, Redcar
140 people packed into the small hall to see the show.

Spitfire def Iceman in an old school British wrestling match, 10 x 3 minute rounds, first to gain 2 pinfalls, 2 submissions or a knockout. Iceman took  the first fall in round 3, Spitfire then took rounds 5&6 to gain the win.

Andy Baker (OVW) and AJ Anderson def General Trent Steel & Highlander in a Tag Team Match.

Sunday 29th August – The Starlight Suite, Cramlington

160 people gathered to watch the last of the wZw weekend shows, and what a show this proved to be, the crowd were hot and the noise they made was amazing, again we saw the video screen in action. The referee made some dubious decisions according to the fans.

‘Tony Warrior’ The Spitfire def Iceman in a 20 minute time limit match for the wZw heavy weight title
Full Pack def T2K for the BCW Tag Team Titles
Aviv Maayan def Mark Sloan
Shady Nattrass def Juvenile, Carbon, Super Ted Taylor, Anthony McIntyre & Stevie Lynn and retained the wZw Cruiser Division Title in a 6 man crazy table elimination match up.

All in all a good weekend, the fans really enjoyed the shows and the venues can’t wait for us to return. wZw are constantly growing and adding to the shows in both look and the talent we bring in to entertain the fans.
