The IWF presents its first ever show in Bedlington on Sat 30th October at Bedlington Community Centre. Tickets cost £4 (£14 for four) and are available from the venue. Bell-time is 7pm.
IWF Champion ASSASSIN will be putting his belt on the line. I have been asked not to reveal the name of his opponent quite yet other than to say that this may well be the most difficult challenge the champion has had to face over the past year. More details on this match soon.
After winning the IWF Tag Team Championship in Gateshead on October 2nd, THE AVERY BROTHERS were informed that they did not have to defend their titles in Bedlington. However, to their credit, they have decided accept the challenge of the number one contenders, CHRIS PRIME and HARRY PAIN. Prime and Pain are widely thought to be future IWF Tag Team Champions and although this opportunity has come early in their careers a win against SHAUN and YOUNGSTA, who are regarded as IWF’s greatest ever tag team, would elevate! them into the upper echelons of the company. It would also make Harry Pain the youngest ever holder of a senior IWF title.
IWF Ring of Faith Champion WEAPON X has been reluctant to defend his belt in recent weeks, but as this show takes place only five miles from his home, he has informed IWF management that he will take part in a championship contest. His only condition being that his opponent is not Bobby Jackson. As a result, management has selected, as his opponent, mysterious newcomer NICK DAMOCLES. Damocles was brought to the company by Weapon X and it is rumoured that IWF management has selected this powerful athlete in an attempt to make the champion defend his strap with the pride with which he did in the past. Certainly, it will be one of the few times in which X has gone into a match with a strength disadvantage.
Weapon X continues to place roadblocks in the way of the #1 contender to his belt ‘UNBREAKABLE’ BOBBY JACKSON. This time he has promised Jackson a shot at his belt if he can defeat LEE KYLE. This is a crucial match for both men as Jackson has his sights set on the Ring of Faith title and Kyle is looking forward to his match with Jed Masters in November. Certainly, both men will be desperate to go into the biggest match of their career with momentum on their side.
PAC is back!!! The sensational flyer is booked to make his Northeast IWF return after many months out with a facial injury and is booked to face his biggest rival, the joint submission expert LIAM ‘THE PLAYER’ ATKINSON. In an interesting side-note, Pac returned from a neck injury in February and lost to Atkinson in a match in which ‘The Player’ targeted the injured neck of Pac. Expect Atkinson to zone in on the most recent injury of his extraordinarily gifted opponent. It will be a tough task indeed if! ‘The Man That Gravity Forgot’ is to gain victory in his comeback match.
