IWF v Hammerlock News

Press Release

IWF News – 6th January 2005

The next IWF show is a special IWF v NWA-UK Hammerlock show at Consett Civic Hall on Saturday 5th February.  Times and ticket details will be released in the next few days.

The format of the show is as yet unknown and both Andre Baker of Hammerlock and Eric Scarboro of the IWF have, thus far, remained tight lipped about which competitors they have chosen to represent their respective companies.  Names will be released as and when they are received.

Unfortunately, the IWF approach the show in the midst of an injury crisis.  Shaun Avery and Ring of Faith Champion Weapon X are both sidelined with knee injuries that show no sign of healing although both are hopeful of being able to make themselves available should they be selected.  Women’s Champion Phoenix is currently on the shelf with an ankle problem although her recovery is said to be going well.  ‘Unbreakable’ Bobby Jackson has been advised to rest for the next few weeks, but this is said to be simply a precautionary measure and he expects to be available for selection.

The free show in Gateshead in November raised £240 for children in need.  Thanks to all who donated money and time, specifically Cameron Knite, Scotty Hex and Chris Travis who travelled from the midlands but accepted no expenses.
