OPWO Scorn – 4th March 2005!

Press Release

The Original Pro Wrestling Organisation (OPWO) is pleased to announce “Scorn,” scheduled for Friday, March 4th 2005. This event will take place at Wesham Community Centre, Wesham, Lancashire.

The card for this event is as follows:

Nemesis vs. Marcus Kool

In our opening contest, these two young stars form the Midlands get their opportunity to display their immense talents to a new audience in the North-West.

Athena Gold (w/Ashton Brown) vs. Angel Gonzales (w/SK8)
When David Sharp and SK8 told the OPWO management that they planned on bringing their valets with them, it made sense to put them to good use and give them a chance to prove themselves to the OPWO management and fans. As a result, they have signed Athena and Angel to face each other in a match that could have a profound effect on the career of both women.

Special Agent vs. Stealth

This match features two of the regular members of the roster of Northampton-based EAW.

Nero vs. Danny Devine

This match sees EAW star Nero facing fast-rising Midlands superstar Danny Devine in a high-octane, high paced contest.

Mooga (w/The Empire) vs. Rampage

This contest is a grudge match signed by OPWO President and Empire leader Melicious as revenge for an injury she sustained at the hands of Rampage while they were both in UCW.

OPWO Junior Heavyweight Title #1 Contender‘s Match – “The Sensation Of The Nation” Rob Hunter vs. “The Dragon” Kyle Masters

Whoever comes out of the Junior Heavyweight Title match at Scorn may think that they have proved themselves to the masses, but that is far from the truth. The winner of the Title will go forward to the next OPWO show where they will take on the winner of this contest in a battle for the belts; and when you consider that this contest contains FCW’s 2004 Wrestler Of The Year Rob Hunter and one of the UK’s fastest rising cruiserweights in Kyle Masters, whoever is champion will not be able to rest on their laurels, The winner of this match also gets to choose the stipulations for their title match, so they’re not just fighting for a title shot, but for the psychological advantage going into their match with the first OPWO Junior Heavyweight Champion.

Ultimate Victory Match – “The Evolution” Kriss Sprules (w/The Empire) vs. Gugi

Rookie WAR star Gugi faces a difficult contest as he faces ‘the genetically modified monster’ in a true test of his determination and will to make a name for himself in the wrestling business. As if this wasn’t a big enough task in itself, he’ll also have The Empire at ringside to contend with. And just to stack the deck in their favour, The Empire has made it an Ultimate Victory Match; the winner has to make their opponent submit as well as pin them.

OPWO Junior Heavyweight Title Match – Ashton Brown vs. “All Eyes On Me” David Sharp vs. TJ Cain vs. SK8 vs. Joey Hayes vs. El Ligero vs. “Dangerous” Damon Leigh

OPWO searched far and wide to bring the best junior heavyweights to Wesham on March 4th to compete for the OPWO Junior Heavyweight Title at Scorn, and in doing so managed to combine three local stars in TJ Cain, “Dangerous” Damon Leigh and Joey Hayes with Wiltshire’s two premier juniors in Ashton Brown and “All Eyes On Me” David Sharp. From the midlands comes SK8 and all the way from Los Sancho, Mexico, El Ligero. Many would say that this list is a collection of the world’s best junior heavyweights, but everyone can agree on one thing: This match will be pure dynamite.

Street Fight – Melicious & Mikey Furiae (w/The Empire) vs. Mailman & Dean Christ

“The Princess of Darkness” teams with new Empire member Mikey Furiae against her old enemy Mailman and his partner of choice and 4FW compatriot Dean Christ. Melicious claims that Mailman’s problems with her are down to jealousy, just like everyone else, while Mailman claims that it’s ‘personal.’ You can rest assured that no punches will be pulled in this contest as it has been signed as a street fight.

British Born Steel vs. The Saint

British Born Steel, one half of the World’s Most Patriotic Tag Team, makes his debut against sinister 4FW veteran The Saint. Steel will be hoping that his partner GBH can find time in his busy schedule to help him out at ringside, and he might need him because The Saint always has a trick or two up his sleeve.

OPWO Heavyweight Title “Checkmate” David Kasparov (w/The Empire) vs. Exodus

In a highly-anticipated contest, the two former Kult members will look to settle 18 months of bad blood which has been festering between the former UCW Tag Team Champions since they parted ways. Since the team split, Exodus has graduated into a more hardcore style of wrestling, while Kasparov has stuck to the old-school style of wrestling perpetuated by his forefathers. But this match is not just about their rivalry, it’s also about the OPWO Heavyweight Title. The only thing that will separate the two issues at hand is the self control of the combatants: do they fight for the title? Or do they fight for pride? This match could go wildly out of control, and someone could end up in a hospital, but one thing is certain: It will be one hell of a battle.
