ST: Rant of the flu-ridden madman

Now usually I wouldn’t say anything if I don’t really have that much to say, there is no point in wasting your time listening to me ramble on about not having much to do, but unfortunately I came down with flu and I’m sitting here, blanket wrapped around me like a great big jess, looking for something to do…

Now usually I wouldn’t say anything if I don’t really have that much to say, there is no point in wasting your time listening to me ramble on about not having much to do, but unfortunately I came down with flu and I’m sitting here, blanket wrapped around me like a great big jess, looking for something to do.

So bear with me.

Before I came down with the flu a few things had happened to me, firstly it was my annual shave, a method to regrow facial hair and give my face a rest, also cuts down on bacteria too (ick), and I had the pleasure of meeting Carl Mizzery for the first time.

Carl left KSW for an extended break from wrestling a month before I joined, so I was one of the few in the gym who had the pleasure of introducing myself to a new member in my eyes!

But boy can he wrestle, easy to work against and I look forward to learning from his experience.

One wrestler said to me that observation and emulation is the only way people will learn, so as well as learning new stuff in the gym, I have been watching more Dusty Rhodes, as well as a few of the other older wrestlers all the way up to modern WWE. Defining my style is a long drawn out process, I had my first ideas that I have taken on board, now it is time to sit down and seriously think about what I can do.

I will be going up to see ACW this weekend as part of my “take a look at as many federations as I can” new years resolution. I was going to go up and see MPW (I’ll check them out next show), but I was asked to come up by a couple of the wrestlers who are going to be on the show, so at least the car journey won’t be boring.

I do like travelling with wrestlers; the conversation is never dull, the bad singing to some age-old rock track never grates and it is a great place to learn things from other wrestlers.

I have been compiling CDs for this year, to get a good compilation of songs to sing along to on the journeys up and down the country, so will be a good laugh.

But I’m hoping that this year I won’t be lugging heavy steel up the side of a pub!

Anyhoo, it’s back to bed with me and the such.
