IWF v 3CW This Saturday, April 9th

IWF v 3CW

Date: Saturday 9th April

Venue: St Joseph’s Hall, Gateshead (Next to Gateshead Metro Station)

Prices: Tickets £4 from Gateshead Photographic and Newcastle Wrestling Store

Belltime: 7pm, Doors 6:30pm.

Although 3CW have refused to name a number of members of their squad, presumably with the hope of gaining a psychological advantage, we have a pretty good idea of which matches will be taking place on the show.

3CW Champion ICE XVII and an as yet unnamed partner will do battle with the awesome IWF combination if former IWF Champion and current IWF wrestler of the year ASSASSIN and his partner NWA-UK Champion ‘VIGILANTE’ JOHNNY MOSS.  Ice managed to pin Assassin in March in what I would consider an upset but it is very unusual to see him pinned twice in a row.  That seems even more unlikely now that he has recruited the hard-hitting Johnny Moss as a teammate.

IWF Champion JIMMY BLADE will defend his title against an unknown opponent.  It is unlikely that Blade will be phased by having to defend his strap against a mystery competitor as he has grown into a fighting IWF Champion and will be determined to hang onto the belt, especially against a 3CW wrestler.

Two time IWF Tag Team of the Year THE AVERY BROTHERS will face 3CW’s THE VEGAS CONNECTION in a Wheelie Bin match.  As far as I can tell, the winner of this match will be the team that forces their opponents into a wheelie bin.  The rules will be explained more fully in due course.

A Russian Roulette match will take place, the rules of which have yet to be explained other than both companies will select a team of five men to take part in the match.  3CW have so far only named one team member, that being 3CW Junior Heavyweight and IWF Junior Academy Champion CHRIS WHITTON.  The IWF team will consist of:

‘BAD BOY’ JED MASTERS – The hard-hitter was a Survivor in a ten man tag match last month.

WEAPON X – The Ring of Faith Champion has just returned after a lengthy injury but seems to have lost none of his explosive skills.

HARRY PAIN – IWF Tag Team Champion has the all round game to adapt to any environment.

MAX HEAT – Former Junior Champion will want his revenge on Whitton.

DAVE STYLES – Former 3CW man, defected to join a proper wrestling company last month.

IWF’s LEE KYLE will face 3CW’s JOHNNY LOVE.  Kyle will be outsized but has tremendous technical acumen and an unusual style that can throw opponents of their game.  Love will be very dangerous as he comes into this match on the back of an impressive victory over Liam ‘The Player’ Atkinson.

IWF stars LIAM ‘THE PLAYER’ ATKINSON and ‘UNBREAKABLE’ BOBBY JACKSON will be in singles action, however, 3CW management have neglected to name opponents for them.  If they hope to psyche out these two fine competitors, then I feel that they are very much mistaken, as they are both in great form, Atkinson being the runner up in the voting for IWF wrestler of the year and Jackson being voted Most Improved Wrestler.

The man who started this, 3CW’s JAYSON MASON will be in action, however, taking a leaf out of 3CW’s book, the IWF has refused to name the opponent for the man who was invited to the IWF in good faith and than attacked Max Heat at a Junior Academy show.
