Both Edge and Lita are not the most popular faces backstage right now, and there is resentment towards them for how Matt Hardy lost his job in seemingly unfair circumstances.
There was anticipation backstage last night on how the MSG crowd would react considering they are renowned for being vocal about issues. The crowd certainly didn’t hold back and let their feelings on the situation be known. “Vince McMahon considers MSG his gauge for what’s over in his company,” says one wrestler. “I wonder what he was thinking during that segment,” said one wrestler.
