Latest WAW News – Monday April 25th

MAY MAYHEM III UPDATE
There’s certainly been a lot of activity with regards to WAW’s upcoming May Mayhem III spectacular on Saturday, May 28th at the Littledown Centre in Bournemouth.

WAW Commissioner Steven Howard-Platt has signed another match for the show, a British Heavyweight title number one contender’s match between long-time rivals Bash & The Kraft, putting an end to the rumours that both of these men would be a part of Team WAW in the Inter-Federation Cup tournament.

The rivalry betweeen Former two-time champion Bash & Atlantis Cup winner the Kraft stretches back to WAW’s 10th anniversary show last September, and has seen both men tearing up WAW shows since then, including a Last Man Standing match at October Outrage VI. They couldn’t even get along when they got a shot at the tag-team titles last October, and now with the number one contender’s position on the line, they’ve got something more to fight for – a title match against the winner of the Ashe/Alex Shane match, scheduled for the first of WAW’s Summer Sizzler shows in Great Yarmouth on Monday, July 25th.

As for the inaugural British Inter-Federation Cup tournament, both teams
have been busy this week. Team WAW manager Sweet Saraya announced the third member of her team, keeping it in the family as it were by naming her son, Zak Zodiac in the team. The youngster has been gaining high praise from all quarters with his performance as of late.

And just today, Team FWA manager Greg “The Truth” Lambert named James Tighe to his team. Tighe has become one of the best wrestlers on the FWA roster, and his recruitment to the cause is something of a coup for Lambert.

So the card for May Mayhem III currently stands as;

British Inter-Federation Cup
Team WAW, managed by Sweet Saraya:
The Zebra Kid, “Rowdy” Ricky Knight, Zak Zodiac.

Team FWA, managed by Greg “The Truth” Lambert:
“The Anarchist” Doug Williams, Spud, James Tighe.

INJURY UPDATE
You may recall that a few weeks ago we reported that “Gentleman” Jimmy Ocean had to pull out of several WAW shows because of surgery on a long standing wrist injury. Sadly, because of the current state of the NHS, Ocean still hasn’t had the operation. All at WAW wish him a speedy recovery.

We can also report that Cruiserweight Champion Steve Quintain is now well on the mend following his recent illness. Our best wishes go to the Tattooed Warrior.

We’ll be back next week with all the latest news.
