Welcome one and all to another rambunctious look in to what we call the British grapple game. This week British wrestling made headline news in Scotland for all the wrong reasons…well how else could it? So I will be talking about that as well as the latest on Scott Future and his campaign against Celebrity Wrestling as ITV just wish the programme would slip away, Scott is doing his best to keep his campaign going and never let ITV forget what a mistake they made. All this and more in this week’s edition so please do read on if you will…

All this and more in this week’s edition so please do read on if you will.

The lead story for Saturday’s Daily Record newspaper which is a popular read north of the border has exposed Scottish wrestler Adrian McCallum for improper conduct at the jail where we works as a guard. In this bizarre story, Adrian stole the uniform of an inmate and then proceeded to join the queue for methadone which is given as a heroin substitute for the drug addicts. Adrian was spotted and yanked out by other guards before he got any methadone but this action has almost certainly cost him his job at the prison.

Adrian wrestles under the name Lionheart at BCW but luckily this was not mentioned in the article that I read. I don’t know what this news will do to his position within BCW with no official statement being made as at time of writing. It will only be people involved in British wrestling and maybe some of the people who have gone to BCW events that would of made the link and know who he was so it is not known what if any action BCW will take. I will keep you informed on the story as Adrian is promising an official statement in the near future.

Scott Future’s campaign against Celebrity Wrestling took another interesting turn this week as he passed some exclusive news to me. Scott has tried many times and many ways to get the attention of the celebrities involved with the show to get them to answer his challenge of a one on one submission match. Scott is testament to the statement there are many ways to skin a cat as he is now attempting the direct approach.

Scott has brought himself a very important tool to get the celebrities attention, he has brought the domain names of various celebrities that feature on the show. Scott is now in possession of http://www.jeffbrazier.co.uk, http://www.oliverskeete.com, http://www.marcbannerman.com and http://www.markspeight.com.

All of these websites now all link to a very special message directed to each of the above named celebrities. So now hopefully the celebrities will take notice or some of there fans looking for their websites will come across the message and spread the word. Scott had this to say to me when we talked this week:

If they wish to gain these domains from me all they need to do is ask. However, asking for these domains, and not responding to my challenge would hardly be fit for a warrior, or a crusader, so lets arrange a time and date for a legitimate, submission wrestling match, and we can all “BRING IT ON”!

We hear at Wrestling 101 support Scott’s campaign and wish him the best of luck in his quest to get one of these Celebrity Wrestlers in the ring. Scott is in Prague this weekend but I’m sure he will have much more to say on this latest development on his return.

IPW:UK present another huge night of wrestling this weekend (22/05) as Best of British 2 from the Orpington Halls in Kent. The event looks like it could be the best event IPW:UK have ever produced with a kick ass card which features a good blend of new and established talent. The card looks like this:

  • Best of British: Heavyweights:
Martin Stone vs. The Zebra Kid vs. James Tighe vs. Andy Boy Simmonz OR ‘Thee’ Drew Galloway vs. A Mystery Opponent Decided On The Evening

  • Ladder Match:
‘New Superstar’ Stevie Douglas vs. Aviv Maayan
    – If Aviv wins, Stevie Douglas is fired. If Stevie wins, he takes Aviv’s #1 contendership to the IPW:UK title.

  • Main Event Qualifier:
Andy Boy Simmonz vs. ‘Thee’ Drew Galloway

  • 6 Man Ghetto Brawl:
The Chav Army (Flaming Red, Battalion & Nixon) vs. Ashe, Kris Linnell & A Mystery Partner

  • ‘Sadistic’ Jack Storm vs. Mystery opponent

  • Chris Wyld vs. Eamon O’Neill

It is good to see how IPW:UK are pushing talent like Stevie Douglas, Tony Sefton and Aviv Maayan all of whom are very deserving of a push.

At London Calling FWA presented us a full British card and a great night of action but to keep the fans happy the FWA have announced some big imports for their show in Morecambe on the 18th of June. The imports take on a greater significance as they will be bringing with them their tag team belts with them to defend on a FWA show. One half of the GHC tag team champions are very own Doug Williams is bringing his tag team partner Too Cold Scorpio over to defend against Minoru Suzuki & Naomichi Marufuji at the Morecambe dome. This should be another history making night in the FWA.

There has been some more interesting news coming out of the BCW camp this week as they officially announced that the Iceman has been released from their company due to apparently having ulterior motives for powerbombing the Highland off the stage through a table last year. This means his match at Night of the fan on June 25th against the Highlander has been cancelled. We all think it’s a work so hopefully it will provide an interesting storyline.

Finally this week UKPW announced this week that the first defence of the UKPW title will take place on June 24th as champion Ethan “The Heat” Hayze defends against Chris Wyld at the Nye Bevan Hall in Hackney.

Until next time,

Adam Sibley
