WWE: Financial results, Birchill, RAW’s return to USA Network

– WWE have revealed their financial results for the first quarter ended July 29th.

Among other things the results show that the number of events held has decreased from the same period last year (70 this year, 89 last year), it also shows a rise in the average attendances for both American and International shows (4,600 – 3,800) and (10,700 – 9,300) respectively.

The report shows that the average household ratings for RAW has slightly risen (3.8 – 3.7) and Smackdown has stayed the same (3.1).

– The Sun Online has a piece written by The Lils Boys looking at WWE’s British newcomer Paul Birchill, and it includes comments from Mark Sloan (FWA Academy trainer) and Dean Ayass (former manager).

– WWE have confirmed that several major names will be appearing to mark RAW’s return to the USA Network on October 3rd. Mick Foley, Steve Austin, Triple H, Vince McMahon, and Hulk Hogan are all set to appear according to a press release, other superstars included in the piece include John Cena, Shawn Michaels, Big Show, Kurt Angle, and Ric Flair.

Ticketmaster is also listing the following names for the show, Shelton Benjamin, Carlito, Chris Masters, Edge, Lita, Kane, Hurricane, Rosey, and The Heart Throbs.
