A CHALLENGE HAS BEEN ISSUED… AND ACCEPTED!
With their feud heating up in TNA, ABYSS and SABU bring their war to 1PW this January with a huge Tournament Qualifier battle on the Friday January 6th show. The winner will advance into March’s one-night World Title Tournament. The loser goes home empty-handed… if he manages to make it out of the match alive, that is.
Winning is apparently not enough for Abyss, as word reached 1PW’s offices late last week, via STERLING JAMES KEENAN, that a challenge had been made to Sabu and Sabu had accepted. The challenge? To make their qualifying match in a “NO DISQUALIFICATION MATCH”. 1PW Official Ron McNorson contacted Sabu to confirm that he was, in fact, aware of and agreeing to this new stipulation.
Sterling James Keenan had the following to say: “Sabu has spent the past decade being hailed as this homicidal, suicidal, genocidal maniac. The only part of that that rings true is the suicidal part. You’d have to be suicidal to want to face my monster Abyss. And in a No DQ match? It’s going to be the survival of the sickest and Abyss is as sick as they come. Hey! That doesn’t sound half bad. Tell your marketing geniuses they can call this a SURVIVAL OF THE SICKEST match. And tell the freaks in the audience that this is the end of the road for Sabu.”
When asked for comment, Sabu replied by pointing skywards and walking away.
1PW RELEASES JEFF JARRETT VIDEO
Several weeks ago, JEFF JARRETT sent a video tape to the 1PW offices proclaiming that he would win the 1PW title no matter what obstacles were put in his way. A decision was made not to air the video as Jarrett’s presence in 1PW is still a matter of some consternation to those working behind the scenes at the exciting new British promotion.
Over the last few weeks, it has been announced that Jarrett will face long-time foe AJ STYLES on Saturday January 7th for the right to advance to the World Title Tournament in March. It was also announced that “The Hitman” himself, BRET HART, would be bringing an opponent to face Jarrett on the Friday night show.
With word reaching 1PW from a variety of sources that Jarrett is scouring the globe for any clue of who Hart is bringing to face him, 1PW Officials have decided to release Jarrett’s video message after all. Fans can have a glimpse of exactly what 1PW has had to endure on an almost daily basis ever since Jeff Jarrett decided that he would force his way into the promotion and the tournament and try to make the 1PW World Title into yet another trophy for “The King of the Mountain”.

UP CLOSE WITH BRET HART IS SOLD OUT
All 200 seats to the Friday afternoon UP CLOSE WITH BRET HART event are now sold out. For those who weren’t able to purchase tickets to the UP CLOSE event, never fear. There’ll be plenty of Bret Hart goodness in store for you. The Hitman will be making speaking appearances to open both Friday and Saturday night’s shows as well as greeting the crowd during Saturday afternoon’s FanSlam event. In addition, he will personally introduce the “mystery wrestler” he has chosen as Jeff Jarrett’s Friday night opponent.
