Emory Hale Passes Away & Mark Madden Suffers Heart Attack

– Emory Hale, a Florida based wrestler who worked for WCW and the XWF died this evening. Hale was managed by Jimmy Hart in WCW and was often spoken about being used in prospective projects headed by Hart and Hulk Hogan following the end of WCW. He was broken into the business by Brett Sawyer.

Hale had suffered from health problems in recent years and was the recipient of a kidney transplant in 2003. He had been hospitalized for some time as of late, although I haven’t yet confirmed what the health issues involved were.

– Pittsburgh ABC affiliate WTAE reported this evening that former WCW announcer and current Pittsburgh talk radio personality Mark Madden suffered a heart attack while at a youth deck hockey game in Reading, PA today.

Madden appears regularly on WTAE’s Sunday evening sports show, which acknowledged tonight that he was hospitalized. Madden is a well known sports radio personality in the Pittsburgh area.

According to WTAE’s Newsroom, Madden is in intensive care but currently listed in stable condition. He’s responsive and breathing on his own.
