FWA: Shane Goes Awol, Vansen’s First Title Defence & "War On The Shore" News

NEWS FLASH 6/2/06 – ALEX SHANE GOES AWOL

Ever since he stormed out of Broxbourne Civic Hall after losing his FWA British Heavyweight Title to Hade Vansen on Sunday night, Alex Shane has been lying low.

As far as we can ascertain, over the past 24 hours ‘The Showstealer’ has not given any interviews or made any public statements, nor made contact with the FWA office or any of his friends, his phones are turned off, he is not returning any messages and not answering his door.  There have also been no sightings of the former champ whatsoever.

Rest assured that we will try to get word from Alex Shane as soon as he emerges from what appears to be self-imposed hiding.

NEWS FLASH 6/2/06 – WHAT NEXT FOR HADE?

‘The South City Thriller’ Hade Vansen won’t have much time to enjoy his stunning victory at New Frontiers as he has already been signed to his first FWA British Heavyweight Title defence.

This Saturday (February 11) on the FWA:M show in Stockport, ‘The South City Thriller’ will defend the belt for the first time against ‘The Phoenix’ Jody Fleisch.  The match between Vansen and Fleisch had already been signed prior to Sunday, and now FWA officials believe Jody deserves another chance at the title because, thanks to Doug Williams, he didn’t get a fair shake in The Champions Final at New Frontiers.

There are plenty of questions going into this match next Saturday. Will Hade Vansen’s title reign be the shortest in FWA history?  Will Jody Fleisch even be fit to wrestle after the head trauma inflicted on him by Doug Williams at New Frontiers?  Can Jody cap his emotional return to wrestling with another reign as FWA British Heavyweight Champion?  Will Hade continue the impressive form he showed on Sunday night?  And with Nikita scheduled to compete elsewhere that night, can ‘The Lady Killer’ win an FWA Title match without outside help?

You can see students from the FWA-affiliated Future Shock training school in Manchester alongside the stars of the FWA on Saturday, February 11 at the Guildhall, Wellington Road South (A6), Stockport, Cheshire (opposite Stockport College and adjacent to Evans Halshaw Volvo Garage) Doors 6.30pm, show starts 7pm. Tickets: £14 Front Row Ringside, £9 General Admission and £5 for Under 14s; available on the door or can be reserved by calling 07845581487.

Matches signed thus far are as follows:

NEWS FLASH 6/2/06 – FLYWEIGHT TITLE DEFENCE AT MORECAMBE

Also signed in the aftermath of New Frontiers is an FWA British Flyweight Title defence for Ross Jordan against the high-flying Bubblegum at FWA War On The Shore on March 4 at the Morecambe Dome.  Having emerged from his gruelling ladder match with Spud on Sunday, Jordan now has to deal with another challenger to the belt he appears to be going to increasingly violent and desperate lengths to keep.
