WWE: Official Smackdown Preview

Who’s heading to WrestleMania?
March 3, 2006

The final slot in the main event at WrestleMania 22 will be determined when Friday Night SmackDown rolls into Washington, D.C., this week.

At No Way Out, Kurt Angle defeated Undertaker to retain the World Heavyweight Championship. Last week, General Manager Theodore Long announced that as a treat to the fans that support SmackDown, the two men agreed to go at it once more, and they will meet for the gold this week. Randy Orton & Rey Mysterio are both already in the Triple Threat Match for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 22; will it be the Wrestling Machine or the Deadman who walks out of the nation’s capital with the gold and heads to the biggest stage of them all?

Last week, Matt Hardy and Tatanka failed to make it two wins in a row against MNM and couldn’t win the WWE Tag Team Championship. This week Matt Hardy will answer MNM’s open challenge again, but who will his partner be?

At No Way Out, Finlay helped JBL bring Lashley’s undefeated streak to an end. Last week on SmackDown, Lashley got his hands on Finlay in a six-man tag team match, but this week he will look for some more revenge in a one-on-one match. Can Lashley get back to his winning ways or will Finlay continue to have the big man’s number?

Plus, the Boogeyman spooked Booker T & Sharmell again last week. Boogeyman stalked the couple, forcing them to retreat through the crowd, and proceeded to dump a bag full of worms onto the announce table. Will Booker & Sharmell have anything to say about Boogeyman’s bizarre antics?
