Spud In RoH – First Match Signed!
» The first match signed for Spud in Ring of Honor has come in, and it is in Cleveland on April 29th 2006, as Spud takes on Jimmy Yang, Delirious, Jimmy Jacobs, Jay Fury and a graduate of the ROH Wrestling School, in a six-man-mayhem match. Mayhem it certainly will be as Spud represents the United Kingdom and IPW:UK in America!
However, due to Spud’s American trip, it has now been confirmed that he will be unable to make his prior arranged April 30th booking for IPW:UK. This gives an amazing opportunity in singles competition for Dragon Phoenix, Spud’s tag partner, who will now take Spud’s place in the match against former IPW:UK Champion Aviv Maayan.
Much like Maayan and Spud, Phoenix and Maayan have had altercation before in IPW, as both men competed to be the Best British Flyer, a crown that eventually went to Aviv Maayan. Over a year on, and Dragon Phoenix has under his belt a tour of the world. Maayan has under his belt an IPW:UK title victory. Both men collide come April 30th.
NOAH’s Tag Champions To Collide With IPW:UK Tag Champions Come May 28th!
» IPW:UK Tag Champions, Dave Moralez and Jack Storm. NOAH GHC Tag Champions, Takeshi Morishima and Mohammed Yone. That’s your introduction, come May 28th, the four men will lock into battle.
For Moralez and Storm this is something very new – never before have they come up against Japanese challengers. And for Yone & Morishima, the quaint yet raucous setting of the Orpington Halls will be a world apart from the arena’s they play to regularly back home in Japan. On a tour of the United Kingdom to further develop their amazing abilities, the NOAH champs will face off against Orpington’s own IPW:UK champs in a double-non-title match.
Many IPW:UK tag teams were in the hunt for the chance to prove themselves against two of the world’s very best (and this really is no exaggeration), but it was decided that one of the privileges of being champions that Moralez and Storm now possess, are the opportunities to first refusal on big tag matches. This is one of the biggest. This is on.
Other News:
— There is just 24 hours left for the fans to decide who will face PWG’s very own Kevin Steen on April 30th.
— We will have a full update on Monday, coming out of the IPW:UK Title match at the Mountbatten Centre in Portsmouth on Saturday April 15th. The belt, held by Martin Stone, is to be defended against former champion Aviv Maayan.
