LDN Wrestling signs a TV deal with the Wrestling Channel

London May 2006 — London Wrestling is proud to announce that it has signed a Television deal with The Wrestling Channel. LDN Wrestling was established in November 2004 when it ran its first show in Ealing. In the last 18 months, we have been striving tirelessly to both increase both the attendance and quality of our shows. Now, with three regular venues and more on the way, we are really coming into our own and feel ready to take the next step.

Our recent debut in Romford, ‘Heart of Stone’, was a massive breakthrough for LDN; a great sell-out crowd of 377 and a true showcase for the quality and variety which British Wrestling offers at its very best. The DVD was released less than a week later and greatly impressed many with the high quality of both wrestling and production alike. That same week, we celebrated establishing the Southbury Leisure Centre in Enfield as a LDN venue and this has been followed by another two hot sell-out crowds.

Our shows are simply aimed at everybody who enjoys wrestling young or old. Our family-appeal and solely UK-based roster are our key strengths, as they enable us to create both a unique brand and a lean and easily-expandable promotion, as well as a platform for some of the best talent in the UK to compete, enthrall and entertain, both live and on your TV. Whether it be celebrated veterans like WoS Star Robbie Brookside, Ricky Knight and Majik, grapplers in their prime such as current LDN champion Ashe, the “Most Dominant London Heavyweight of the Modern Era” Martin Stone, Jewish Sports Person of the Year Nominee Tex Benedict and “Asian Sensation” Ross Jordan or future legends Project Future, Ricky Hype and Jason Sweet Sensation; LDN seeks to fully capitalise on them all.

Sanjay Bagga- LDN Promoter commented, “This is a massive step in the right direction for LDN. The aim for the next year is to produce 1 show every 2 weeks for The Wrestling Channel, whilst increasing the amount of live events we produce. The aim is to promote between 12-20 events this year and next, and we are also in talks to bring LDN outside Greater London on a regular basis”

The Wrestling Channel is the world’s first TV channel dedicated solely to the sport of Professional Wrestling. ‘TWC’ can be viewed on the SKY Digital platform (channel 427) in the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland. The aim of ‘TWC’ is to bring viewers the finest pro-wrestling action from around the globe, covering as many styles as possible. The structure of the TWC broadcast schedule ensures that viewers can catch a repeat viewing of their favourite shows at different times, on different days, throughout the entire week. Their current line-up of programmes include TNA Wrestling, Ring of Honor, Zero-One MAX, Memphis Wrestling, Pro Wrestling NOAH, Nu-Wrestling Evolution, Irish Whip Wrestling, Classic TNA PPV’s, Cage Warriors FC, Supercard Shows (including free TNA Pay-Per-Views), and ITV: World of Sport – classic British wrestling action.

Our first season will begin with a recap of past events in LDN so that everyone can get up to date with our history. Our first official TV taping, our return to Romford, will take place on Saturday 15th July and will see customised entrance themes for the first time in LDN. We are also to invest in a new ring, entrance-way and lighting, in order to put on the best looking show possible.

LDN Wrestling will shortly announce the date of its first airing on The Wrestling Channel. For more information on LDN Wrestling please visit www.LDNwrestling.com or www.thewrestlingchannel.tv.
