IWF CHAMPIONSHIP

‘BAD BOY’ JED MASTERS v ASSASSIN

Since becoming IWF Champion in February, Masters has been on a quest to prove himself as the greatest Champion of all time. With defences against the likes of Chris Whitton, Flower Child and especially against BG James, he is well on his way to achieving this goal.

However, roadblocks keep getting thrown in the way, this time in the form of 2-time former IWF Champion Assassin. Unlike Masters, Assassin is regarded as being IWF’s top Champion having held the top strap for the combined total of over three years. If Masters can overcome Assassin, that will go a long way towards cementing his legacy.

IWF TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP

TEAM WITH NO NAME (ADAM CHRIST & FLOWER CHILD)

V

NEW AGE ASBOs (PAULY C & ROBBIE RYDER)

Having lost twice to the Champions, Paul C and Robbie Ryder were told that they would not get another shot at the IWF Tag Team Championship. However, those plans were changed when they won the recent Northumberland Tag Team Classic, beating Adam Christ and Flower Child on the way.

This match has the added spice of being in Pauly C’s hometown, and ‘The Charva MC’ will not want to disappoint his home crowd. Nevertheless, it is worth remembering that the Team With No Name beat the New Age ASBOs in Ryder’s hometown of Gateshead recently. It would seem that it will take more than a biased crowd to take the straps away from the Champions.

JORDAN WRIGHT v JIMMY BLADE

The popular Jordan Wright is due an IWF Title shot in Jarrow on 15th September, he will continue his preparations for that night by taking on the former IWF Champion, the 280lb Jimmy Blade.

Blade has not been seen in an IWF ring for over a year, and is said to be determined to prove that he is ready for another shot at the IWF title, so Wright has better be on top form. The last time these two were in the same ring, in 2005, Blade attacked Wright, who was his tag team partner on that night. Whether this will serve as an inspiration for Jordan after all this time is unknown, but it should serve as a warning how dangerous Blade can be.

‘J-BIRD’ JOEY WRIGHT & TIM PERVITO (w/LEXX)

v

‘BIG MO’ BILLY MORRISON & LEWIS ‘THE DRAGON’ BEARDSLEY

New best friends Wright and Pervito team to face their respective enemies. Pervito has a hair v hair match scheduled against Beardsley in September, and rumours persist that that the experienced Pervito has let this worry him to such an extent that he has turned heavily to drink.

Wright and Morrison, the former Wright Stuff 2000, split recently when Wright accused Morrison of holding him back. Ironically, Wright’s career has went into free-fall since, while the ‘Big Mo’ has managed to earn the number one contendership to the Northeast Championship. Unfortunately for Billy, Lexx, Billy’s ex ‘WAG’, will accompany Joey.

As added spice to the match, the winners will get a shot at the IWF Tag Team Championship. They will also be allowed to pick any matches of there choosing for the respective members of the losing team.

IWF NORTHEAST CHAMPIONSHIP

LEE KYLE v A MYSTERY OPPONENT

No word on the opponent for Kyle, who has shown that he will go to any lengths to keep the Northeast Championship around his waist. Kyle has recently begun resorting to getting himself purposely disqualified, proving that the winners share of the purse and the legacy of the title are of no concern to him.

VACANT IWF JUNIOR ACADEMY CHAMPIONSHIP

EL PELIGRO

V

RICKY ‘VAN’ JAN (w/BIG GARY)

V

BALLS OF STEEL

Since Lewis ‘The Dragon’ Beardsley was stripped of the Junior Academy Championship, the top names in the academy have been jockeying for a shot at the title.

Big Gary has managed to get his client Ricky ‘Van’ Jan named as a contender, and Jan will start as a favourite due to his considerable size advantage. However, El Peligro has seemed to have Jan’s number recently, frustrating him in a number of matches recently. Newcomer Balls of Steel is an interesting competitor, impervious to low blows, he claims this is due to him having balls of steel. However, many have suggested that he is wearing a cup, illegal in pro-wrestling.

JOEY WRIGHT & TIM PERVITO PERFORM THEIR NEW SINGLE

No word on a title, but when I spoke to Joey, he described the song as “Phixx and Jimmy Nail, meeting on a cloud in heaven. They spit on the earth, who are drowned in a river of champagne and sequins.” It’ll probably be crap…
