WWE has released developmental talent Derek Neikirk today from the company. There were plans for Neikirk to be put on the ECW brand when it first launched in 2006 in a tag team with Ryan O’Reilly. O’Reilly later asked for his release last year. Neikirk has been in the WWE’s developmental system since 2005 working for Ohio Valley Wrestling, Deep South Wrestling and Florida Championship Wrestling.
As noted in a report yesterday, there was some fear among developmental talent that cuts could be coming soon after the company instituted a new "report card" measure. Well, we have seen our first cut and more could be coming.
