WWE: Vince McMahon turns down invite to appear at steroid abuse conference

Vince McMahon was invited to attend an upcoming conference regarding abuse of performance enhancing drugs in professional sports, but according to WFAN radio host Mike Francesca, he declined, reports ProWrestling.NET. McMahon declined the invitation because his lawyer, Jerry McDevitt, was unavailable to attend the conference with him. McMahon said that he would make himself available at any other time his lawyer is available. The conference was called by Commerce, Trade, and Consumer Protection subcommittee and will take place next Wednesday in Washington D.C. Sports commissioners Bud Selig, David Stern, Roger Goodell, and Gary Bettman are scheduled to attend the conference, as is George Mitchell, who conducted the investigation into illegal performance enhancing drugs in Major League Baseball.
