THQ unveils Legends of Wrestlemania

Freshly copied and pasted from the humbles mouths of the chaps at Eurogamer…

THQ has torn the Spandex pants off a fresh WWE game only for PS3 and Xbox 360.

It’s called Legends of Wrestlemania and will launch alongside the annual sporting entertainment event in March 2009.

The best bit is that it lets you play as all the old heroes from the golden era of wrestling, and so will appeal to people like us who, would you believe, don’t actually watch wrestling any more.

Presumably we can expect faces like Hulk Hogan, then, as well as Macho Man Randy Savage, Bret The Hitman Hart, Ultimate Warrior, Sergeant Slaughter, Shawn Michaels, The Rock, and more. We’ll be disappointed if Ultimate Warrior isn’t in it, THQ – we had a plastic figure of him that you wound up to unleash his Texas Tornado.

Presumably developer Yuke’s of SmackDown Vs. Raw fame will be making the game, which should provide a stop-gap between the flagship wrestling series releases.

THQ also spilled the beans on a release date for its Ultimate Fighting Championship game, which should be splatting blood on the canvas next spring.
