Quarter hour ratings for WWE Raw this past Monday night show that CM Punk may prove to be a ratings success. The highest rated segment of the show by far was a 4.12 for the overrun featuring the new World Heavyweight Champion’s first title defense against JBL. It should be noted, however, that CM Punk is not expected to have a long term title run. Vince McMahon has been wanting to shake things up lately, hence his Million Dollar Mania and the draft lottery. Putting the title on Punk is being seen as a short term move to freshen up Raw, however if his ratings and merchandise sales are strong, plans could change.
