The July 14 edition of the Wrestling Observer is reporting that before getting released, William "Trevor Murdoch" Mueller was working at house shows with MVP and there were plans to put the two together for a comedy duo. Also, SmackDown Writer Michael Hayes had some plans for Murdoch, but he didn’t know that Murdoch was released until he got a memo that came after Murdoch found out. Murdoch was given the generic "your character is going nowhere and creative has nothing for you" line, which is there to hopefully soften the blow of the release. Murdoch reportedly took the firing well.
