WWE Week In Review XXVI

The fifth annual WWE Cyber Sunday came to you from the U.S. Airways Center in Phoenix, AZ. Eight matches and a Divas Halloween Costume Contest were scheduled for the event.

And In Other News…
-Before the pay-per-view got underway, WWE.com hosted a special online-exclusive preview match that saw Shelton Benjamin successfully retain the United States Title against R-Truth (who got voted in over Festus & MVP), giving R-Truth his first loss in the WWE.
-The opening match of the pay-per-view saw Rey Mysterio defeat Kane in a No Holds Barred Match (voted in over a Falls Count Anywhere Match and a 2-out-of-3 Falls Match.
-Matt Hardy also retained his ECW Title over Evan Bourne (who got voted in over Finlay & Mark Henry).
-The Miz & John Morrison defeated Cryme Tyme in tag team action (voted in over Jamie Noble & Mickie James Vs. William Regal & Layla and Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase defending the World Tag Team Titles against CM Punk & Kofi Kingston).
-Santino Marella faced The Honky Tonk Man (who was voted in over Goldust & Roddy Piper) for the Intercontinental Title and thanks to Women’s Champion Beth Phoenix, Santino retained his gold by disqualification. Afterwards, all three candidates laid out Marella.
-In a Last Man Standing Match (voted in over a Knockout Match & an "I Quit" Match), The Undertaker defeated Big Show.
-In the Divas Halloween Costume Contest, Mickie James defeated the fifteen other Divas with her rendition of Tomb Raider.
-In a match for the WWE Title, Triple H was able to keep his gold against Jeff Hardy (who got voted in over Vladimir Kozlov & a Triple Threat Match with all three).
-In the World Heavyweight Title Match that was overseen by the Special Referee Stone Cold Steve Austin (who got voted in over Randy Orton & Shawn Michaels), the two losing candidates that lost the voting interfered and was both taken out of the equation, but when the dust cleared, it was Batista who came out on top over Chris Jericho to win his fourth World Heavyweight Title.

The 805’th edition of RAW saw the fallout of Cyber Sunday in Tucson, AZ at the Tucson Convention Center. Confirmed for the night was Rey Mysterio Vs. Evan Bourne, Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase defending the World Tag Team Titles against CM Punk & Kofi Kingston, & in the main event, new World Heavyweight Champion Batista would team with Shawn Michaels to face former champion Chris Jericho & JBL.

Bad Week For: Santino Marella (Bested by Roddy Piper, Goldust, & Honky Tonk Man for the Second Night in a Row)

And In Other News…
-In the opening match for the World Tag Team Titles, CM Punk & Kofi Kingston were able to defeat Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase (with Manu) to capture their first tag team titles.
-In 6-Divas Tag Action, Mickie James, Candice, & Kelly Kelly defeated Katie Lea, Jillian, & Layla.
-In their first one-on-one meeting, Rey Mysterio out-quicked Evan Bourne to pick up the win. After the match, Kane & Mark Henry laid out the two high-flyers.
-Before the tag team main event could get underway, JBL brutally assaulted Shawn Michaels backstage, leaving Batista to face both Chris Jericho & JBL in a Handicap Match.
-Shawn Michaels was able to rescue Batista at the last minute and assist in the two of them picking up the win over Jericho & JBL.
-Next week on RAW’s 3-Hour 800’th Episode Celebration, Batista will make his first defense of the World Heavyweight Title when he takes on former champion Chris Jericho in a Steel Cage Match. Also, RAW will see the reuniting of D-Generation X for one night only as they face ECW’s The Miz & John Morrison. On this week’s RAW, Randy Orton gave Shane & Stephanie McMahon an ultimatum for the 3-Hour RAW, either Mike Adamle gets fired or Randy Orton quits.

The 125’th edition of ECW on Sci-Fi came to you from the San Diego Sports Arena in San Diego, CA. Confirmed for the evening was a special live edition of The Dirt Sheet that will target The Miz & John Morrison’s opponents next Monday on RAW- DX.

And In Other News…
-In the 6-Man Tag Team Opener, the team of Chavo Guerrero, Bam Neely, & Mark Henry defeated the team of ECW Champion Matt Hardy, Finlay, & Evan Bourne when an opportunistic Chavo Guerrero took advantage of the chaos of the match and pinned the champion for the win.
-In his biggest win to date, Jack Swagger defeated Tommy Dreamer.
-In a special edition of The Dirt Sheet, The Miz & John Morrison mocked their opponents this Monday on RAW, D-Generation X. Even bringing out two DX impersonators and then laying them out to send a message to DX.

The 481’st edition of SmackDown was a Special Halloween Edition of the show featuring the return of the Casket Match as The Undertaker faced a mystery opponent.

And In Other News…
-In a non-title match, The Miz & John Morrison defeated WWE Tag Team Champions Primo & Carlito.
-In the spirit of Halloween, Jimmy Wang Yang dressed as John Wayne Yang, but was assaulted by Ezekiel Jackson & The Brian Kendrick after Kendrick was disqualified.
-In 6-Man Tag Action, RAW’s Rey Mysterio teamed with ECW Champion Matt Hardy & SmackDown’s Jeff Hardy to defeat the team of RAW’s Kane, SmackDown’s MVP, & ECW’s Mark Henry.
-In 6-Diva Tag Action, Sgt. McCool, Maria The Bunny, & Brieopatra defeated Maid Maryse, Officer Natalya, & Victoria The Banana when Maria tagged herself in to pick up the win over Victoria.
-In the main event, The Undertaker overcame interference by Big Show to defeat Chavo Guerrero in the return of the Casket Match. Undertaker disposed of Show by throwing him on top of the casket, which freaked Big Show out, leaving The Deadman to pick the bones of Chavo for the win.
-Two big matches were announced for next week’s SmackDown- United States Champion Shelton Benjamin will defend his title against R-Truth and in the main event, The Undefeated Vladimir Kozlov will face The Undertaker for the first time ever and if Kozlov wins, he gets his long awaited WWE Title Match against Triple H at Survivor Series.
